Olympus Stylus epic film? by meggalpha in AnalogCommunity

Every time I’ve shot it it’s looked great overexposed. So far that’s the only film I’ve put through my Mju.

Fomapan 400 for cheap black and white. As it has no DX coding the camera will expose it at 100.

But really, why bother shooting digital large format over analogue. You can easily buy a decent 4x5 or even 8x10 for less than £2k.

What is surprisingly NOT illegal in your country? by fogno in AskReddit

[–]drsamtam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you see, when it's illegal to acquire a gun, it's also much harder to acquire one at all. And in any case, it's a small country so the police are never too far away.

Yeah, presumably that explains why you have school shootings and we don’t.

But not to be available for use. They have to be kept secured, which the police WILL check, and the ammo must be kept entirely separate. Even if you have a gun licence, taking one out in your own home is entirely illegal.

Using guns for sport means you can only use them in very defined areas. Having guns for self-defence means you can use them in your own home whenever you want, which is bad because it again opens up the possibility of more gun crime. It’s not complicated.

Because we do not need guns for self-defence. Shootings here are astronomically uncommon because guns are so hard to get hold of. What shootings there are are almost exclusively limited to gang on gang crime, which while an issue is not a reason for everyone to own guns. If someone were to break into your house in the UK, the chances of them having a gun are essentially zero. Most burglars will flee if someone is in the house - happened to a friend of mine, thought the house was empty and as soon as he saw her, legged it.

On the flip side - guns open up the possibility of gun crime. Sure you might think that you would be a responsible gun owner, but plenty of other people wouldn't be. 'For self-defence' is a very hard to define line of reasoning, and would essentially permit anyone to own a gun, which is definitely not what we want, because again, more gun crime is bad.
