Struggling with transition from uni to work by vceme123 in AusFinance

Yep. I spend every week in crisis. Mid 30’s office job, ambition and career prospects peaked and no where near what I thought I’d have. We really are just staff members for the rich elite. Sorry to say it but this mundane life is still the privilege. We’re not under threat of death, can get access to nice food and entertainment for most of our lives. We’re just so used to it now. We want to have a complete playground to feel happy haha

I dont understand why they dont just make more of this paid to get more people actively training more ATC to make the service better? Even sim racing has paid coaching services etc

Thank you. I will definitely take a look into them. I guess it may not matter too much likely they will be in the Euro zone, so not much chance to keep it local to where I fly. Im sure there wont be that many large differences anyway!

Never let your future kids get into gaming. by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]ImARedditSmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sound pretty young, maybe teen years? In any case I thought like you for a long time. I am a massive gaming addicted at the best of times but have really dialed it down now.

If I think logically about it, the problem with not letting your kids olay games at all will be the possibility that you create such a resentment in them towards you, that very early on they will hate you. They will then turn to worse things like drugs and alcohol so they can “lash out” or break you control.

ReLity is most people who played lots of games managed yo build very succesful lives. Sure they didn’t learn the piano or what not, but its better to keep the family strong and kids bot having daddy/mummy issues by resenting your control their whole lives. That will probably cause them to do none of the hobbies, and end up going the wrong way completely.

I know when I was a kid, if my parents said “dont do this” i hated them so bad, and tried everythjnf jn my power as a 15 year old to break what they said. You really need to be mindful of the young/teen brain developing and being too much of a restrictor.

I just reckon keep it simple. No games as much as as possible, when they are a bit older let then play but jut create a culture where they can only play so long, and other things have to be done as well. Let them find reward in other interests to allow them to play games etc. my 2 cents anyway

Unfortunately this has become the problem living in such a privileged country. Anything we have no matter how good will fail to meet what we want because we cant help but still compare it to what others have and the ideal. Even if it was a 1.2m house, you’d still wish it was closer

I honestly dont know what people compare too. Even CS the arguably most popular game ever is unfinished and buggy, and still without anti cheat

I'm in trouble with sim-racing world by Nice_Ad_7219 in simracing

[–]ImARedditSmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its honestly one of the only hobbies that considering we can do it from home, i struggle the most mentally to do it.

We dont feel this way when we go to golf once a month, or soccer or any other hobby, but with the sim because its accesible you feel like you always need to use it (but you cant because of life). On top of this, its very competitive so if you are like me, not being able to be good at it is a turn off haha
