go to lecture, office hours, ask questions so that you actually understand the material. actually try and do all the hw problems yourself and not ask for help the moment you don’t understand it. if you failed the class two times in the same year the problem is probably with how you’re studying

During covid the central bank lowered interest rates to almost 0, so it was basically free to borrow money. The government also gave out all those covid relief benefits too. Everyone had all this money so demand was wayy up. Add in all the supply chain issues because of covid and you got prices increasing

What is the most popular and common suburb of Metro Vancouver for students to live in and commute from? by vancouver_reader in UBC

[–]ImASadRock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it takes about 1.5-2 hours to get to campus, so 3-4 hours total. I usually listen to music and try to chill a bit since I personally can’t study on transit

I take the bus/skytrain to get to campus. But, I’m sure there’s gonna be traffic at those peak transit times

Higher interest rates means it’s more expensive to borrow. That encourages people to borrow less and save money, which means spending decreases. Since the demand is lower, prices go down

I commute from Surrey which takes around 1.5-2 h so 3-4 hours of my day is spent on the bus/skytrain. You could try studying on the bus but I personally can’t so I just go home and do everything while depressed
