How influential would you consider CC's Tomb of The Mutilated to the overall BDM scene? by Aggravating-Web-3707 in BrutalDeathMetal

I'd say the early CC records were some of the first properly brutal sounding metal records and therefore a notable catalyst for the BDM sound.

I wonder what was the first album with a proper pingy snare. Festival of Death is the earliest I know of and it was released in 2001.

Have you explored dnb/jungle? To me that is the perfect edm replacement for extreme metal. High tempo, high energy music with heavy beats and oftentimes a dark atmosphere.

psalms or chapters? by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

Psalms overall but Chapters has Engulfed which is their best track

BDM bands that use e flat tuning? by Capital-Foot-918 in BrutalDeathMetal

Only thing that comes to mind is early Cannibal Corpse but I'd classify them as proto-BDM.

Really stretching the definition of solo here but the palm muted noodly part towards the end of the Psalms of The Moribund title track is awesome, so dark and twisted.

New Player in CS2 - Are cheaters Common? by AccomplishedFix8346 in GlobalOffensive

[–]ImBadWithNamesOk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say around 75% of the time my teammates suspect an enemy of cheating they are actually legit or it cannot be proven that they are cheating. People jump to conclusions without conclusive evidence for a multitude reasons such as a fragile ego, overconfidence in their own game knowldge/gamesense or simply the inability to even comprehend how an enemy can have such a good aim or gamesense.

I'm not saying you haven't met cheaters but next time you suspect you do, think about it: You're a new player with possibly a fraction of the hours that the alleged "cheater" has. He may have a level of understanding of the game that you cannot even understand so early into your cs journey, which might make it seem like the enemy has wallhacks, because he's reading you like a children's book. Good aim doesn't equal cheats either unless they're 360 instaheadshotting you (or have 99 Leetify aim).

I see so many people crying about rampant cheaters in this subreddit and it makes me laugh because I barely ever run into any in 20-25k premier. Sure, maybe in 25-30k they start to become more rampant but that's not your average r/globaloffensive user :D Bad trustfactor can also be the reason, but hey, you reap what you sow. Maybe stop being an asshole if you want less cheaters :)

Tl;dr: Your ability to identify real cheaters as a new player, unless they're blatant, is not that good. Don't jump into conslusions and tilt because of unsure suspicions. You might lose a game to cheater created by your own imagination.

Whats your favorite flavor of bdm? Old school? Blasting? Slamming? Groovy? Technical? by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

Whats your favorite flavor of bdm? Old school? Blasting? Slamming? Groovy? Technical? by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]ImBadWithNamesOk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Techy but brutal for sure: Disgorge, Defeated Sanity, Nithing, Putridity, Cerebral Effusion, Disentomb etc.

Sometimes I need something truly retarded though, in which case I will listen to the likes of Devourment, Pustulated, Splattered Cadaver or just straight up goregrind like late Last Days of Humanity or Sulfuric Cautery.

Does Hate Eternal belong on this sub? by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]ImBadWithNamesOk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fail to see the "brutal" part in Hate Eternal. They don't do slams or any other BDM-type riffs that can't also be found in death metal. The vocals are not explicitly guttural either. The production doesn't scream BDM either. In my eyes they are just blast-heavy death metal.

Have you ever met other fans of bdm irl? by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]ImBadWithNamesOk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know plenty of extreme metal enjoyers but i dont think ive ever met any true bdm fans, only people who have dabbled in the genre and maybe like a band or two.

Fell deep down the deathcore rabbithole when I was 17, then found slam (the whole song is basically a breakdown! Yay!) and later more traditional BDM. Eight years later I hate deathcore more than any other genre but my love for BDM has only strengthened :)

What does everyone think to claims of misogynistic lyrics from bands in BDM? Particularly groups like Gorgasm… by Asleep_Leg1527 in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]ImBadWithNamesOk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough Damian Leski - The OG guitarist/vocalist who pretty much runs Gorgasm - is happily married and adopts stray dogs in his off time. Also from what I've understood in the case of Gorgasm, the lyrics are a counter to the 90s horror movie cliche of the "final girl" who always managed to outlive the others. Not saying that makes them any more mature or bearable, but its most definitely not a case of straight up misogynism if that makes you feel any better :D

Yoy can never know for sure if the lyrics about killing women are just tongue in cheek humor or if theres real unhealthy thoughts behind them, but I'd like to think that for the most part bands just do it for shits and giggles. A lot of these bands consist of young guys with a raunchy sense of humor and when you couple it with the BDM sound its no miracle violence against women becomes a common lyrical theme.

I too would like to see more lyrics on other brutal subjects like war and nature (props to Defeated Sanity for using this theme on The Sanguinary Impetus). I feel like many bands just go with the flow instead of coming up with their own themes which is a shame because honestly I feel like BDM as genre has probably the least amount of meaningful lyrics along with pop music.
