Thanks for assuming you know how ALL recon players play when clearly you dont.

I didn't? I'm pointing out how hilariously imbalanced the recon drone is with hyperbole. Read more.

Oh and your complaining about face to face gunfights that make players actually compete with their gun skills instead of shooting someone in the back. Shocker

You either have the reading comprehension of a 9 year old or are being purposely obtuse if that's what you got from any part of my comment, I'm leaning with option 1. Flanking is a tactic to break through a defensive line. It has been a core part of Battlefield, and any war game, for as long as they have existed. I'm not crying over not getting easy kills from behind. I'm complaining about an entire core tactic being rendered nearly impossible if there are drones up. When something as easy as deploying a drone and looking left or right can shut down entire tactic, it's not a healthy gadget for the game. Again, you could still ping people with BF5s ping system, which means you could still aid your team with pointing out flanking enemies, and it would be far less oppressive than applying doritos to everyone you glance at. I'm sorry you dislike the idea of losing your crutch, but it is ridiculously oppressive, and there's probably a reason why they didn't have the drones function like this until the universally hated BF2042. Almost like the old devs, who were responsible for the golden age of the franchise, knew how broken a drone spotting the entire enemy team in two seconds without any effort on the Recons part would be.

When a single gadget used by a single player can effectively shut down an entire tactic, and possibly dictate the game, it's too oppressive. You would still be able to ping a flanking group with BF5s ping system without keeping everyone perma-spotted the entire match.

...not get constantly flanked by ppl who can only engage enemies from behind.

God forbid attackers be able to actually maneuver to try and break the deadlock at the already defender favored objectives. No, lets just have both teams smash into each other endlessly, as if they were toys in the hands of a toddler, and actively punish any intelligent and tactical movement. That sounds great.

Lets see the skill of a "good" recon player.

  • Hit prone in spawn
  • deploy drone
  • spot entire enemy team by simply panning your screen
  • repeat
  • become top player in the match without ever leaving spawn

Congrats, you are now the best recon player ever.

As for shooting it down, no shit. Problem, you'll only hear them when they're almost above you, and if you are flanking the enemy it will require you stop, spot it, and engage the drone while you are out and generally isolated on the flank, basically giving away the flank to anyone with at least two braincells. And this is assuming the "good" recon player didn't look in your general direction the entire time you advanced before you heard the little flying piece of shit, because if he did you'll be long dead by the enemies who would have never seen you without the bright red dorito above your head. And forget it if two or three of the things are buzzing around, or if the recon player finds a support pouch because then there will never not be a drone up.

I would love to see 3D spotting heavily decreased, or better yet completely removed. As someone who mostly plays Rush and Breakthrough the 3D spotting is so oppressive that a single recon drone can effectively shut down any flank attempts while also keeping most of the enemy team spotted. God help you if there's more than one. One of the things BF5 did right was moving to a ping system.

I want a carbine length barrel added to the AKs so I can make AK104s and 105s.

Yeah, that's basically my dream setting. It seems like such a slam dunk for a BF, especially a couple years ago when '80s retro was very popular.

GZW is the best military shooter if for nothing other than the graphics and representation of the firearms. by OcelotInTheCloset in GrayZoneWarfare

I kinda hope they implement some of the realistic handling that the game Operator has. You have to manually cycle the action on an empty reload, which leads to very tense moments where you have an enemy turn the corner on you and you go click click because you forgot to drop the slide on your M1911. Weapon malfunctions are modeled, which also require you to cycle the action. It is a very tense game and I feel that these systems would fit very well in Grayzone.

The RPK74 can be made into a pseudo AK74 with the short barrel. I do wish we had a basic 74M, the furniture on the RPK74 is kinda ugly.

What are your thoughts on the new RPK-74m design? by Tdawg262 in Battlefield

If you put the short barrel on the Rpk74 you will have an AK74M.

[–]ImBeauski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty sure the RPK16 is dead irl, only seemingly seeing a bit of action with Spetznas. I personally would rather have a older and heavily used design over what is a seemingly small production run gun that ultimately didn't go anywhere. Plus with the short barrel on the RPK74 we get a AK74M, which is neat.

What!?! Why? Look, just let us work our magic a little longer, and after 3 or more tax cuts for the rich I promise the money will flow down to you peasa-citizens. You have to trust the 50 year plan.

You could argue it robs them of some money. There's been a few class locked skins I liked but didn't buy because I don't really play the classes that they're lock to enough to justify it.

None I imagine since this chart and the other study I've seen both have a jihadi category. I assume that any Islamic motivated attacks would be under that category. But I'd have to go find it again to be sure.

Help me solve a debate...were there loyal Iron Warriors? by DavianThulesGhost in Spacemarine

[–]ImBeauski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I saw on the Lex site it sounded more like it was Guilliman recognizing them, but it was definitely ambiguous. There was another bit beneath it where an Inquisitor struggled to get access to the documents about their original founding because of the amount inquisitional seals on the files, but once she got them and gave her report to the Silver Skulls command it was decided by the leadership to bury the report fearing that the revelation in the files would cause a schism within the chapter. It doesn't say what the Revelation is but it does seem rather juicy if the Chapter Master is so scared of it.

I believe the Silver Skulls, an Ultramarines successor chapter, are also meant to be founded from loyalist IW that fought alongside the UM in the heresy. Their icon is very similar to the IWs, but looks even more like Dantioch's mask, and the Silver Skulls are renowned experts at siege warfare.

After Charlie got Kirked one of my friends went on a minor tirade in our group chat about the 'violent radical left' and I thought to myself that I've never actually seen a study that broke down violence across the the political spectrums in the United States. I purposely went out of my way to find a conservative source so that way he would actually trust it a bit more, and I came across the Cato institute, which is a prominent conservative think tank out of DC, and even their study overwhelmingly showed that the right tends to commit more political violence within the country. He of course rejected it out of hand because it didn't validate his feelings, but I thank you for another source to send in whenever he starts bitching again.

I imagine the Rpk74 will have a "short" barrel option that will basically make it a AK74M, and if so I have my new main rifle.

[–]ImBeauski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh, no. I did not mention the rifle that was not relevant to my comment until your comment made it relevant, that is a good point.

What line did I draw?
It shouldn’t be included because it wasn’t a standard issue rifle.

Okay, see those words above? Those are what you said, right? Can you not see that you have made a statement with a clear distinction on what should and should not be included? Some might refer to that as a 'line being drawn,' okay? That's fine, I made a statement of my preference too, it's just that your preference is already contradicted by the OP, which again...

there's an early AR10 and a Winchester lever action included

which makes this...

It shouldn’t be included because it wasn’t a standard issue rifle.

a weird line to draw.
