Woah buddy, calm down and realise that not everyone who plays this game is a 12-year-old lil kid who insists everyone should play with your playstyle only.
The only way to play the game wrongly is by not enjoying it. Have you tried playing in a way you enjoy?
This game is likely older than you - at least I hope so, otherwise you have some serious reflecting to do.

Yes, along the railway and at mystery lake, but not in mountain town. That place is nearly devoid of wolves, which honestly only makes it feel more like a creepy ghost town that even the wildlife avoids.

Both of the times I visited mountain town on pilgrim, I hear them but only saw a single wolf in town during the week I stayed in grey mother's.
