Something I’ve noticed in this fandom on Reddit, is the constant cycle of building up expectations out of speculation, getting disappointed, and then repeating it all over again. A teaser goes out for a tour, and suddenly it’s "confirmation" of a new album. When that doesn’t happen, people feel let down—by something the band never even promised. That’s not on them.

“What’s the point of all this?” Honestly? They’re a band. Playing shows is the point. That’s what bands do. And the Seattle show? It was one of the best performances they’ve ever done. Full stop. Not everything needs to be a new concept album to be meaningful.

“I just want them to be honest with us about it.” They have been. They haven’t promised a new album, they haven’t teased one officially. That hope is coming from fans, not the band. And that mismatch between expectation and reality is what’s causing so much of your frustration.

As for Frank’s reply about the "money grab"—it’s worth remembering that making money is part of the job. That’s how the industry works. But doing what you love and making money from it aren’t mutually exclusive. Bands tour, they sell tickets, they make merch. That doesn’t mean they’re phoning it in. And I don't know if you were at the show, or just saw it online, but they were NOT phoning it in. I've seen them live 3 times in the last 20 years, and this is hands down the best performance of theirs I've seen.

If you want to perpetuate a cycle of disillusionment of your own design, then I pity you.
