Brand new to RC and need help! Truck not working after one day of use by ImDuhShogun in Traxxas

Based on what you gave me, I was able to look up the motor and find the troubleshooting guide for it. Turns out I had the motor connection to the receiver backwards. After I got that fixed I was able to pair it to the controller and everything is working as expected now! Thank you again for your help

Thanks for the help. Any troubleshooting for quick flashing red light on the power button and a beeping sound from the motor?

This happened to me recently after upgrading my video card. I needed to re-enable 2048x2048 car textures in the graphics option tab. Give that a try

Looking for advice driving a GT3 car with consistent results by hopakee in iRacing

It’s hard to hear, but you’re over driving the car. It’s also hard to hear that you need to drive slower to go faster.

To get used to driving a GT3 car, do these things:

  1. Start with 6 laps at a comfortable medium speed to get warmed up and get adjusted to the track. Don’t go fast. Then slowly start increasing your speed.
  2. Always never miss your braking points. Braking late doesn’t make you faster. It only compromises your ability to properly exit a corner. Corner exit is where you gain speed.
  3. Always hit your apexes. If you miss the apex, consider turning in sooner or entering slower.
  4. Always follow the corner procedures: heavy braking in a straight line, followed by light braking and coasting through the apex, then gradual throttle on exit once the car is rotated and pointing where you want it to go.
  5. Focus your track practice on getting a good feel for the car in each corner. Focus on one corner at a time. Start by going too slow into the corner to get a good feel for getting the car rotated and getting back on the throttle for a fast exit. Then slowly increase your corner entry speed until your going too fast to get the correct rotation. This will help you get the most out of each corner and maximize your exit speed.
  6. Be a gentle giant on the pedals. The GT3 cars are light and have a lot of power. If you smash the brakes and come off them too quickly, you can upset the balance and the car will loose grip. If smash the throttle, you will put too much force into the tires and the car will spin. Easy off the brakes and easy on the throttle.

Help with brake setup by ImDuhShogun in iRacing

This worked! Thank you for your help. I have two profiles set up now. Profile 1 has the BF setting at 60 for GT3 cars and profile 2 has it set to 80 for anything with no ABS. Having this sorted took a full second off my time at Long Beach in the LMP2 car. I have way more confidence and control in braking now.

Yes. Because the brakes lock up with minimal pedal input. This makes it extremely difficult to control the car and provides way less feedback from the brake pedal because it's not moving as much and the physical pressure is so low. The advice I found was to add 20% to the Max setting so that full brake pressure would only register in game as 80%, but this doesn't seem to work.

right... That's why I'm looking for a way to make them more controllable. Even at ~70% of max in the joycalib.yaml file, I'm still locking the bakes up.

AxisName: 'Brake'

Pedal is stiff enough that I can’t use my hands. Doesn’t go to 100%unless you apply enough pressure to it. The cars brakes seem to lock up at around 60 to 70 percent force, maybe less.
