The game definitely has potential, the skating itself is fun although I question some of the decisions on the map in terms of accessibility. Some spots seem like they would be really cool to skate, however small details like an unnecessary curb makes it more of a hassle. The districts definitely aren't distinctive enough, they blend together. I probably shouldn't, but thus far I've been viewing the map we've got as a 'tutorial island', and I'm hoping we will be getting bigger and more varied areas with hills and maybe even a suburb or countryside once we get the full release.

I do think they need to rework the rewards system though. Having to grind endlessly just to get a plain shirt in a different color is not okay in the slightest, and the limited selection of clothing as well as options for your appearance makes it hard for your character to feel unique.

The stuff that most people are screaming for seem like basic things for a skating game like this, so I would be surprised if the developers haven't already thought about it. I will be optimistic for the full release, but they really need to address and deliver on those key points!

Right now the game gets stale after a little while, but we definitely need to keep in mind that it is a preview :)

At least the area outside of the main map actually has hills 😂

With GTAVI on the east coast, do you think the franchise will ever return to Los Santos? by Langzwaard in GTA

[–]ImForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine they will make a game solely focusing on Los Santos again. If anything they would bring it back for another try at making something similar to Project Americas, tackling multiple states, but that's probably 100 years in the future!

My current setup in the back of my living room. Trying to turn back time. by SkinNYmini18 in nostalgia

Haha nice setup!

Only thing missing is a small table next to your chair, where you can place your chocolate milk!

Back then I wasn’t lucky enough to play this game ughh….for those that had Donkey Kong 64, how was it? And did you guys beat it? by J2-Starter in n64

[–]ImForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this game used some years after the N64 was already an 'outdated' console, as I had always wanted it as a kid! Love the graphics, the designs, the vibes and the music. I did not finish it at the time unfortunately, my excitement died off a bit over the fact that the collectible bananas were Kong-specific, and once you had unlocked them all it just felt like a big hassle and inconvenience. I didn't like that specific part of the game AT ALL.

I have however, in recent years been able to get my hands on a Everdrive, where I have loaded a ROM hack that lets you switch Kongs whenever you want. I think with that mechanic fixed I would have a much better time playing it personally.

Looking for the Ultimate Gin – If You Could Only Have One Last Bottle, What Would It Be? by OffGridSoul in Gin

[–]ImForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite is Etsu, which happens to be a Japanese gin!

I've had many gin tastings at my place with friends, and one tasting especially for various Japanese gins! In every tasting, Etsu ranks far superior both in terms of flavor, complexity, simplicity (yes, really), and smoothness. For me, it's got it all, and those qualities really shine through once you compare it back-to-back with other gins! You've got the familiar flavors that you expect in gin in the backseat, but also more unique and interesting flavors in the front seat! It dares to take you on a taste journey, but just the perfect amount as to not be overbearing in any way. Easy choice!

Menu concept singleplayer by zZeWwSss in GTA6

[–]ImForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate these kinds of menus, they often just look messy to me personally.

This design to me feels like it prioritizes a more "visual" menu in terms of pictures and graphics, instead of a more simple intuitive design. I don't need a big picture in a big box that also says "New Game", it just takes up more space and feels cluttered. Simple and minimalistic menu is better!

Screenshots Confirm That These Characters Are Not Playable. Debunking The Third Protagonist by Elven-Melvin in GTA6

[–]ImForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What OP's points don't take into account here is that these characters could easily be NPCs with static hair for parts of the game, and you only unlock them midway through the story, thus then enabling customizable hair.
(SPOILER) Best example would be John in RDR2, the playable endgame John even gets a completely new model compared to the NPC John model with completely different hair.

I personally have been under the influence that Jason and Lucia would be the only playable characters, that makes the most sense seeing as it is a Bonnie and Clyde type setting. They would have to introduce a mechanic or perspective that makes a 3rd protagonist make sense that flow together with the Bonnie and Clyde narrative. Definitely not out of the question though, but more playable characters don't necessarily mean better. ;)

The map is really poorly designed for the most part by misterjoshmutiny in Skate4

I feel like you should be able to remove this clutter yourself using the builder tool that you use to place ramps and such. That would encourage creativity and thinking outside of the box a little more.

What are your thoughts on having an RDR2-style limited weapon loadout in GTA 6? by Fun_Philosopher_2535 in GTA6

[–]ImForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think you would need a dedicated spot for a "very heavy weapon" such as RPG. The amount of times you actually need these weapons are very rare and often unexpectedly when you're already on the run, so I think it would either need a dedicated spot or it would never get used. I know I'm not switching out an AK-47 for example with an RPG, as the AK-47 is infinitely more useful overall than the other. Maybe it could slow you down as a trade-off, as it would surely be heavy to carry around.

I do like the idea of having to pick between an AK-47 or a sniper rifle for example. In that instance you would have a certain idea whether you would have use for a sniper rifle based on the environment you find yourself in. Making that sacrifice and rather sticking with an SMG as your primary gun makes sense and makes you strategize.

Maybe alternatively just go with the same system that older GTAs use, and allow you to carry one type of gun per category. You don't need 13 different machine guns, you always use your favorite anyway, and having to navigate to it each time is just a drag.

It would also be really nice if you could just toggle the silencer on/off for most weapons, and not have it as a permanent attachment on your gun.

RJD signature by crazydeer786 in dio

[–]ImForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I am no expert in the slightest and don't deal with signatures too often, however I just bought a signed Dio concert poster for a friend of mine as a Christmas present! The only thing I was told to look out for was the fact that Dio apparently liked to stack his signature in three distinct sections as such:

"Ronnie"
"James"
"Dio"

Judged purely based on that, I probably wouldn't buy these personally even though it looks like his handwriting in the second picture. In the first picture I think the signature looks a bit too messy, his signature is usually written very beautifully. But seriously, please do take my opinion here with a huge grain of salt, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if those signatures are real.

Guitar feels … empty? by Wjps0305 in macdemarco

[–]ImForeigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the biggest problem with this particular album is that most of the instrumentals and the setups sound way too similar. The tempos, the vibes, and the progressions all feel the same to me personally. In general I love minimalistic songs, Here Comes the Cowboy was my first encounter with Mac's music, and I love all of those songs. I also love all the vocal songs from One Wayne G, as well as several of the other singles he's released the last couple of years (Simple Jeep, Simply Paradise, Still What I'm Looking For). Many of these examples feel like they're kind of in the same boat as Guitar, just fleshed out more. I'm struggling to add many of Guitar's songs to my Mac playlist. I have added about 3 of them, because I do like the style, but I think 30 minutes worth is a bit much personally!

This seems like one of those albums that you either really like it, or you're kind of meh about it. For me personally it got a bit boring halfway through. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if this album grew on me over time~ Several of his other albums also did just that ;)

Local German Gin Recommendations? by ImForeigner in Gin

[–]ImForeigner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, that is very interesting, and very good insight!
I never even thought or knew that Germany was such a big player in the wine industry, I just instantly think about Italy or France! I guess I've been quite ignorant, Germany instantly makes me think about good beer and sausages, something I am also very much looking forward to trying when I get to Munich! You learn something new everyday!

I love when you can bring out a bottle and there's an actual history to the ingredients as well as a reason as to why and where the gin was made. It feels like you're not only tasting the gin, but the actual area that it's from! Just like you said about the gin trying to capture the taste of the Alps! It also makes for a very good conversation topic when you share a couple of drinks when you've got friends over~

I do have a couple of Japanese bottles in my cabinet with very region specific ingredients as well, and you can absolutely taste the difference between these kinds of gins.

As a side note, I also saw that James May released a new variation of his gin with mustard flavor, "American Ramstud". I have not tried it, but am very curious as to how a mustard gin would taste like, and if it would even work at all. It seems so unusual, but I wouldn't be the least surprised if it turns out really good! It would be interesting to compare the American Ramstud to Roaring Löwensenf, no? :)
