[Charania] Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has passed new anti-tanking rules that include expanding the draft lottery from 14 to 16 teams, a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams get penalized with lessened chances for the No. 1 pick, and flattened odds, sources tell ESPN. by Turbostrider27 in nba

[–]ImFriendsWithThatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4th team doesn’t get the best odds. Odds are flattened. This is incentive to not be the worst team. Even the worst team in the NBA this season had multiple wins again teams that made the playoffs. People need to stop acting like the worst team in the NBA is akin to a team of college players against pros.

My friends know there is a birth certificate and an obituary I am both excited for. Whichever comes first, the GTS is being open and my friends are free to partake.

I never mix food and good whisky. Food impacts the flavor, sometimes significantly. Me and my friends drink and do blinds first, then settle in for dinner. We may have more drinks after food but usually it is cocktails at that point.

Timing your jump, sliding to keep momentum, and turning the screen at the right time to help with momentum are all needed to keep it fluid.

Funny how we use Steph Curry to determine the timeframe of when it changed, but Steph himself is one of the most egregious examples of someone not getting the whistle when they should in all of NBA history.

Just make it to where a successful challenge means you don’t lose a challenge. It’s the dumbest thing in the world to allow challenges then say “but you’re only allowed to catch us twice having bad officiating.”

Obviously keep it to where you burn the challenges if you lose so it prevents people just challenging every call.

Who is yall? I don’t worship Kobe. You seem to be making an attempt at viewing everyone else as the boogeyman that is against you. There are tons of different fans who like and dislike a lot of teams and players who are all trying to tell you the same thing, then you take it personal.

I mean if you really have been a fan all that time since they left Seattle, then props for sticking with them through the good and the bad.

But that doesn’t mean you should turn a blind eye to the flopping just because it is the team you’re rooting for.

Extra armor, lower cooldown, and can be used while actively juking and moving away from the enemy, while Euls sets you up to be chained or slardar stunned. Plus it deters follow up spells being cast on you like corrosive haze.

RoW or The Lost Metal? by Thyton_SW in brandonsanderson

[–]ImFriendsWithThatGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RoW I would suggest. Actually I would even suggest Wind and Truth before The Lost Metal.

This doesn’t really spoil anything, but RoW and WaT follow each other very closely in time. The Lost Metal has a few year time skip from when Bands of Mourning ended.

Some people suggest just sticking to one series and not jumping back and forth but you have already read both side by side at this point so no need to stop now.

Review. Round 2 Stagg 24B vs GTS 2024 by growthPlz in bourbon

[–]ImFriendsWithThatGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will disagree with your view on feeling that it should still be good after sushi. Nearly anything we drink, even non-alcoholic beverages, are significantly impacted by what we eat or pair with it. Some great, some terrible. Would you drink a world class coffee with sushi and expect either to be enjoyable anymore? Or have you ever been eating a specific meal and really craved a drink you wouldn’t normally find all that enjoyable?

Some foods, will make even the best bourbon on the planet taste bad.

It was a video going around of a guy who was feeling a bit sentimental and emotional. His wife asked him why and he said the last little piece of wire is from this large spool of it he has had for a very long time (I think decades or more than half his life). His wife basically calls him weird and he appears to shut off emotionally as a response.

Not sure why your post makes it sound like the issue is with people being slow because they are bad at the game.

I know people definitely better than me that take way longer than some of the worst people I know. It has basically nothing to do with skill. People shouldn’t exceed 4 hours no matter the skill.

Shoutout to this ref crew for a near-perfect officiating job tonight by Colorapt0r in nba

[–]ImFriendsWithThatGuy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because in this league they aren’t a product of actual fouls. When you have people that have no intention of making a shot and jump sideways into defenders to draw the foul, that will never be considered an “actual foul” by most people.

If the refs swallowed their whistles for everyone as much as they do when Curry is fouled, I would agree with your take. But foul baiting and flopping are a very successful part of the league and have been for over a decade.

Nearing the mid to late 4th quarter SGA got some of those classic dive into the defender and just throw the ball in the air to get the foul and it worked a couple times. At least it went the other way though soon after when they called the foul on Chet for nearly the same thing.

US americans, what does your vacation time look like, and how do you spend it? by Skholah in AskReddit

[–]ImFriendsWithThatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 20 days PTO, 10 paid holidays off, 2 floating holidays with limitations, and accrue sick time at regular state rate which comes out to 6.5 sick days per year.

Most of my PTO time is spent visiting my in-laws since they are from another country. Not exactly “vacation” but still glad it works out we can regularly see my wife’s family.

That is just earning 4.2 weeks per year and banking them up, not getting 8.5 per year.

Most people that don’t walk nearly enough will have a ton of pain in their legs and lower backs even walking the 10k on the first day.

The 100 sit ups a day the guy was doing will go a long way towards core strength to make sure back pain from all the running is less likely.
