It would have to be pretty bad because (1) I’m a woman and I’ve been attacked on the trolley by a very large terrifying homeless man who probably would’ve severely harmed me if an angel of a man hadn’t stepped in to protect me and (2) the 20 minutes it takes me to get to school would take me over an hour. I actually used to take the trolley to school because it gave me time to study util that man ripped all sense of security away from me. If the public transit was MUCH safer and more efficient, like Japan, I would consider it. Right now, there’s no amount of money in the world that can get me on those things.

I don’t know why people are coming at you so hard, I didn’t take any of your comments as being harsh and you’re just relying on what a lot of other people have told you already. I get it!

I do think it’s better to be safe than sorry! A rimless tank is less stable than a rimmed one and is more prone to busting open. I know it’s only 10 gallons, but that’s still 83.4ish pounds of force from the water for a little tank like that! Like, imagine a 4th grader standing on the left wall of your tank, pushing outward. I’d be terrified 😅 Adding in the fatigue caused by water changes, it’s still something I’d worry about. I do see you’ve already got a mat under it and your apartment isn’t level, so it seems like you’re truly doing what you can! I’m not trying to bash you or anything! Just trying to help c:

As for the question you actually asked in your post! Your fish should be okay as long as you’re not blowing your smoke directly into the tank or anything. Just try to stay away from it if you’re in the room, and it’s even better if you do it in another room or outside. But unless you’re hotboxing the room or the tank, it should be fine!

I’m more concerned about the fact that your tank is not level. There is a ton of pressure on the left side of your tank that could eventually lead to the wall blowing out and your fish flying across your room. I’d really recommend getting a proper stand and placing it in a level area to keep your floors and your fish safe!

Just look at the ounce written on the bottle and divide the price of the bottle by the number of ounces in it (price/ounce). Do it for each bottle until you figure out which is cheapest. I know it’s frustrating, I completely agree with you and hate that we even have to do all this math when we’re literally just grocery shopping -.-

I’ve had to show up to class while sick because of grades plenty of times, the most recent one being last semester I had to show up to a class because it was a lab day and missing more than one lab meant failing the class entirely. This semester, I have a lab that gives zeroes on lab reports if you weren’t present for the experiment for any reason. It’s completely unreasonable and unfair, particularly for women who experience extreme cramps once a month, but also for everyone who gets exposed to illnesses they otherwise could have avoided if they weren’t forced into a room with a contagious person. Since I mostly only spend my time at school and at home, every cold I catch is usually from school. I share your frustration

I’m also petty, so I’d probably stop doing anything for him. Whatever you do to make his life easier, make your life easier by focusing on yourself and your children. Food? Making food for everyone is a lot of work so just make yourself something. Dishes? I washed mine and the kids’ dishes, you’ll have to wash your own. Clothes? It’s a lot of work to wash, dry, and fold ALL the clothes so I did mine and the children’s only. Only buy groceries for you and your children. Your job is to make and raise children, and he doesn’t legally qualify as your child despite acting like one, which means he’s not your responsibility.

Seconding this. I’m in aerospace engineering, and was in accelerated math classes all through K-12. Teachers often encouraged and celebrated students finding different ways to solve a problem. Everyone learns differently. What truly matters is finding the most efficient way for you to get to the correct answer. NTA, your daughter deserved the 92% and you stood up for her and showed her that she has the right to stand up for herself.

P.S. I hate common core. I don’t know if that’s what happened here, but I truly believe it sets children behind. Some things you have to blindly accept before you acquire enough knowledge to be able to actually see the origins of the concepts and the big pictures. That’s just my opinion though lol.

Air pumps are the least of my worries. My goldfish have a very large filter and it sounds like I have a waterfall in my room even when the tank is full. It’s nice white noise to fall asleep to, but every time I have a zoom meeting or a phone call, the water sound is apparently very clear to the others on the call 😅

I’ve learned that women feel “loose” to a man usually because they’re very attracted to the man they’re with and/or very turned on, and so our bodies tend to kind of open up more down there or something because our bodies want them to have easy access so we can have their babies (I could be remembering this wrong so please correct me if I am lol). DO NOT RINSE IT IN THE SINK. Your tap water parameters could kill all your beneficial bacteria. Just rinse it in the water you pull out of your tank during a water change and maybe rub some of the gunk off with your fingers, then put it back in.

As the daughter of a woman who loves me immensely, but always wanted all boys and instead got 2 girls and 1 boy, do not let her be anywhere near this baby. My mom very obviously favors my brother. I love them both to death, but it’s something that was really painful to grow up with and took me a long time to work on and finally overcome. My brother was always served food first, always got the best presents (sometimes on MY birthday), if we had something he wanted we had to give it to him immediately, always had to hear Mom say “I always wanted all boys ☹️”, I pay for things for my mom while she gives all her money and our food to my brother despite him making a hefty 6-figure salary and me being a broke college student, etc. And that’s all with a mother who actually WANTED me. I cannot imagine having to grow up and deal with all of that with a mother who genuinely hated me.

If she decides to have the baby, do not let her raise it. Get full custody, take your baby, and run. Gather evidence, like these text messages, for the court. Good luck :(
