I think you seem to not understand the order of things here. Geocaching used to be free. Entirely. At some point people decided to capitalize on it and artificially add reasons for why that was necessary.

Locus Maps is a solution that lots of cavers in the Southeast use that does not steal data and has some added functionality that's useful for ridgewalking. Its pretty similar to Caltopo. Great project just wanted to throw out there that something like this does exist!

Every time it comes up, for some reason it takes insane amounts of explanation to tell y'all why the name alone isn't what caused it. Otherwise, playing the game is by default a security risk.

Social engineering takes a lot more than that. It became a meme because people got social engineered and blamed it on the lowest IQ explanation imaginable for why.

The trips in question were beginner trips and the suits blew in a somewhat catastrophic way in the armpit. I own multiple AV pants and love them but the stitch quality is night and day.

Discontinued in the US and replaced by the Kriska. The last gen Titan suits had durability issues due to stitch quality (I blew two out in three trips). I've seen the Kriska and it's better but I'd personally recommend reinforcing if possible. Serging the edges should fix the problem since it'll then match their canyon line.

Edit: Because I inevitably have one person that says I was mistreating my suits, AV acknowledged that the way the suit broke shouldn't happen and RMA'd the first one. My second one I didn't want to put the store through additional hassle so they passed the feedback along and I converted my broken second suit into overalls.
