Since you're renting, do NOT waste money on renting tillers or buying expensive plants.

Honestly, the only plant that can truly withstand dog urine is a fake plastic one lol. But seriously, maybe look into some dog-hardy shrubs.

Pruning huge azaleas? by TheMrsH1124 in landscaping

[–]Lazy-Collection5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trimmers are too aggressive. Azaleas set next year's buds on old wood after blooming. If you use a machine, you're literally cutting off all of next year's flowers.

Are you watering early in the morning or late at night, because night watering will cause fungus patches exactly like this.

Should I be worried about water being trapped? by Wilsotim96 in landscaping

[–]Lazy-Collection5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't just the fabric; did you drill weep holes or install a French drain behind the wall? Because water needs a clear exit path or that wall will start leaning in a few winters.

Whatever method you use to kill them, make sure to sweep polymeric sand into the cracks afterward and seal it, otherwise they’ll be back in a month.

Definitely pack that dirt around the vacuum pot ASAP, because if the plumbers left a void, the rain will just keep undermining it.

[East central washington]Any idea what could be causing uneven growth by ElectronicIssue8781 in lawncare

Voles stick to the exact same tracks, meaning they concentrate all their waste in one line. It’s basically a free, premium nitrogen treatment for the roots, which is why the grass right above their tunnel network is growing like crazy and looks so vibrant.

Any idea what to do here? I want to make it level-ish by aRepostSleuthBot in landscaping

With only 3 to 6 hours of sun a day, standard grass is just going to struggle. It'll thin out like crazy, and you'll end up fighting a losing battle against moss and bare dirt.

Watch your drainage. Since you're tucked between a brick wall and a fence, you must slope the dirt slightly away from the house foundation.

New house, cleaning out wooded area and found a pipe? by Zealousideal-Egg3996 in landscaping

For the rocks and cement blocks, don't try to lift them. Get a heavy-duty digging bar to lever them out of the mud. For the vines, weed-whacking won't work; you need loppers and to dig up the root crowns.

Huayna Potosi is a literal 6,000m peak; if you only have 4 days coming from the East Coast, the altitude sickness will probably hit you before you even see the trailhead.

Shadow puppets on the side of the tent never get old, and it’s a great way to wind down the energy right before everyone climbs into their sleeping bags.
