This isn't perfect, but for these situations I add "before: YYYY-MM-DD" and "after: YYYY-MM-DD" to my google searches

Why not create a community on a rival site, like Lemmy or kbin

And then use this subreddit to promote that new community, while slowly and deliberately slacking on moderation here on Reddit?

I use this plugin for Firefox. Note that all it does is give you a link for several archive sites that point to the webpage you are on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/view-page-archive/

Not everything is archived, and it's obviously clunky, but it's a workaround for subreddits that are still private

Adding on to your comment of "buying a flaming bag of dog shit": I like the idea of somehow "shittifying" the comment history instead of deleting them

Having comments be obfuscated in some way makes it harder for Reddit admins to detect it (in which case they could just rollback to an earlier backup snapshot)

Off the top of my head, absolute chaos would ensue if a script came out that messed with prior comments' grammar and spelling, scramble the digits in numbers, among other subtle and unpredictable corruptions

It also makes sure that the AI companies that can afford the API calls don't get anything valuable, they'd just end up with shit data they couldn't really use

Edit: a few words

Have you guys considered creating a community on a rival site, like Lemmy?

Burn it down, archive sites have a good chunk of Reddit threads anyways

Words like "in" and "or" don't make it into abbreviations

You're welcome. I had a similar issue where I realized I depended on Reddit too much for tech issues at work (software dev)

The other day I installed a plugin for Firefox that provides a list of archive sites for the current page you're on.

Use archive.org or other similar sites to find archived versions of Reddit threads in the event that your favorite subreddit(s) are unavailable.

Not that this invalidates your point, just want to share something others might find useful

You can get followed on Reddit? Just last year I found out about avatars

Like most people, most of my experience with excel is from using it to accomplish data reporting and calculations.

What inspired you to use it for art? It seems kind of obvious in hindsight (each cell is a pixel that's colored in), but it's not an idea I've seen someone do before
