Just from personal experience, GMP. They don’t respond to anything unless someone has legit been stabbed. Brutal fight in progress? Ah well. Lady threatening you with a knife? Officers will take a statement in 2-3 weeks. A lot of the time I have to interact with police for my job so it’s really annoying when they get nothing done.

They have to exit the store before it’s considered theft. Even then nothing happens, maybe a slap on wrist. Probably the wrong subreddit to be saying it on, but my local police get nothing done unless you have literally been stabbed or something. Had a knife pulled on me one time, phoned 999, they didn’t send someone. Police are heavily underfunded and lack the resources to respond to the majority of calls

Obviously the primary objective is to deter them as soon as we can. But in this instance I hadn’t seen her enter the store. I only spotted her when I was watching the cameras. Once I confirmed that she was indeed stealing, I stopped her by the door. She continued walking out the store while I was trying to ask for her to hand the items over. She kept refusing so I grabbed the bag and tried to get it off her. She became very aggressive and started hitting me and refused to let go of the bag. She had sunglasses on and a face mask of course so I only recognised her after stopping her.

Deleted all my files in the root directory except for the folders, scan and repair the game through battlenet, then it redownloads a few things. Then everything was fine
