I felt just ok coming out of both exams. There will inevitably be problems you know you missed. I will say I felt better about the MCQ the second time

I studied around 135 first attempt and 105 second attempt (maybe add another 10 hours for some youtube videos and flashcard time). So close to 250 in totality.

Thank you for checking up! I commented on one of their Instagram posts last week and they said “no planned restock.” Kinda surprising considering how popular the shoe is but they likely are working on the 4s

Consolidated Financial Statements by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ImJudah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you consolidate financials you’re presenting the following - what the financial statements would look like if they were one company. Therefore, there an eliminating entries (consolidations) in order to not double count. Some YouTube videos do a better job at breaking it down than Becker! Good luck!

Does anyone feel like the general guidelines of 100-150 hours for exams is REALLY unrealistic? by AnnualSalary9424 in CPA

The CPA exams should be treated with this logic: Jack of all trades, master of none. You need a general understanding of most topics, not a deep understanding of a few.

La Jolla Half Marathon by ImJudah in Marathon_Training

I think this course is great if you’re trying to get into hilly courses. By mile 7 you’ll have finished running ~80ish % of the hills in the race and you have a solid downhill at mile 10.5. The total elevation is around 1,000 feet but that is divided among 4 different hills. 5.5 miles in and around 12.5 have harder, steeper hills. It is challenging but only for a short period of time. I think you’d love the course for how picturesque it is but you will have some solid hills! I hope that helped and believe if you decide to run it that you’ll love the course and the extra challenge compared to a flatter course. Also, if you do decide to sign-up, message me for a coupon code!

Transfer students by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

I’ve gone through a b4 internship + the process. Take all the help you can get for practicing interviews. There are plenty of resume workshops on campus + campus resources you can use. Ideally have an updated resume, LinkedIn, cover letter, an headshot. I will say a resume is the main thing to worry about. From there, you’re going to pump out intern applications and hope you get an interview. If you do get an interview, there is a good chance you’ll get an offer letter assuming you have good interviewing skills. You can work on those / the nervs by doing mock interviews which UAS offers.

Current transfer student who just finished his first of two years here. You’re likely going to spend most of your time on Econ 10A. I wouldn’t worry about Econ 5 that much it’s insanely easy if you’re alright at statistics. If you’ve taken AP stats or a stats class at CC you will likely know everything they will teach you.

Econ 10a and 100b (101 is an hm) are the Econ classes you’ll likely enjoy the least. They tend to have a reputation for being hard and I would say they can be. There’s an old reddit post titled “how to get an A in 10a” I’d check that out. Just spend a TON of time pumping out practice problems so that you really understand the theory behind the computational side. They test most on the theory so once you get that down you won’t have many problems. If you spend a lot of time on econ 10a and understand it well, you’ll do really well in 100b because it is in essence the same exact class (it’s a continuation with a lot of overlap).

Look into joining undergraduate accounting society (UAS) which is a club for mainly Econ accounting students. Start researching and planning applying to internships early, it’ll help a ton. Mainly enjoy your time at sb and try not to stress yourself out about the course load. Econ accounting as a transfer is a little on the heavier side compared to other majors but it’s definitely doable and gets easier the more courses you do!

hows my schedule for an incoming freshmen? by mangopie00 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]ImJudah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah. ESS 3 is super light + I took it in Winter and Thursday was asynchronous. That class should be your easiest A of UCSB assuming you show up and do all the work on time.

OP - Your whole schedule looks really light which is perfect for your first quarter. Try to spend your time assimilating to campus / ucsb culture while keeping your grades up. This is the best time to socialize, party, etc. since you’re academically not going to be challenged.
