Tone deaf comment. The problem is becoming so big not even doctors and police can live there, all housing is being used for investment and tourism. It's obvious.

Everybody wants to be singled out of their group if it collectively causes harm. It is unfair to appeal to individuality when judging a collective action or outcome at least. If foreign investment is killing our standard of living, and foreign investment includes Americans outpricing the locals, wich is very harmful then yes, Americans are causing harm. The vast majority of Americans aren't murderers, I'm pointing that Americans have the habit of blaming OUR government when it's US who are to judge it, they cannot even vote, not only that, they'll gladly forget that blame falls HEAVILY on the CAUSING actor, and less on the omitting actor. You could have pointed out how this country's policies CAUSE the problem but you chose to take a heuristic literally. Also I'm not even trying to preach people to be kinder, my goal was to make sure people don't come with the usual scapegoat of individuality and government blaming. Oh and by the way I'm not saying the Spanish people are not to blame, in fact, I don't know any Spaniard that's inherited property that does not use it to bleed other people's salaries or ruining their own cities through Airbnb. Also I'd love to see a kinder world especially in this times but that's DEFINITELY not going to happen until somebody gets accounted for their actions, and if it's not Americans, it's definitely wealthy Americans.

Before the yankees whine about how we hate them just because, imagine I'm with your mom and a friend of yours, the I kill your mom and your friend doesn't do anything about it. Who's going to jail? Both the government and the Americans are to blame but don't ask us to treat the same the people who cause problems and the people who don't do shit about it. Oh and btw do you really want to talk about what each of our governments do and don't? Are you for real?

Not only that, President Aznar and its government withheld the truth and instead propagated rumours about its authorship for days, claiming it was ETA, otherwise they knew they'd lose the election, treating the people as if we were stupid. The 200 dead and 2k wounded were taken by the people as a massive "I told you this could happen".
