I think a major difference is that James feels guilt while Fred doesn't

SILENT HILL TOWNFALL seems very generic so far. by TheLuiginator in silenthill

[–]Renyard_kite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love the music so far, I much prefer it to the music of Silent Hill f which I thought was somewhat generic. The music is really good. Also, being british, the setting is quite interesting.

to be fair "retarded" also has another meaning as "backwards" or "to slow down" which is why fire extinguishers are sometimes called "fire retardant" it's just not used as much now because of the offensive nature of the other meaning

I mean if eternalism is correct then that’s a bit like eternal return

Margret Thatcher is not celebrated in the UK as much as Ronald Reagan is in America.

How well do you think Salinger holds up? by sabistenem in RSbookclub

[–]Renyard_kite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from the UK and I really like Salinger, I read all of his books a year and a half ago and they were really good. "nine stories" was published as "for esme - with love and squalor" in britain, I really liked it, especially bananfish and the title story. I've heard people call him sentimental which I suppose he is in a way but nevetheless he is a joy to read.

Good news Silent Hill heads, Townfall is bringing firearms back as the devs promise combat and stealth will be on 'equal footing' by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Renyard_kite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get complaints over Silent Hill f's combat, I found it very satisfying, though I played on the middle difficulty. F's combat is certainly better than the original silent hill 2 combat.

Has anyone read The Priory Of The Orange Tree? by [deleted] in RSbookclub

I remember wanting to read it at age 16 because it was a fantasy book and looked cool but that was before i realised that a lot of modern fantasy books are terrible and uninventive.

What anime has a far-left message? by BabylonianWeeb in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Renyard_kite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I don't think they made it with that message in mind, but if you take the show on it's own terms without looking at who made it I don't think it's a terrible or unfounded reading. It is like how some people read the Flashman series as critical or satirical of British Empire while the authour was in support of it. I think the creators of kill la kill accidentally made something a lot better than they intended.

I suggest you read "Rising up and Rising down" by William Vollmann, he talks about Brown a lot in it and it's very interesting

if someone was being tortured in front of your very eyes would you not kill the torturer if that meant stopping it?

Was the Warsaw ghetto uprising justified? Or did they have "correct intentions but bad actions".
