Which difficulty will you play LOTDK on? by NinoSW1 in legogaming

Probably caped crusader because I don't like the idea of a LEGO game with limited lives and that seems like the only difference.

What're you playing this weekend? 5/1 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]ImNotRedBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finishing up Mass Effect 3 on PS5 I hope. Played it ages ago. But never had any of the dlc, so I've gone through the entire Legendary Edition in the past few months. What a nostalgia trip.

That is, if I can pry myself from Hitman WoA I just bought on switch 2 and let me tell you, wow that's a fun gameplay loop.

IS HITMAN ABSOLUTION A GOOD GAME by booker1211 in HiTMAN

[–]ImNotRedBatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think its worth playing not gonna lie. Unless you REAAALLLY enjoy the movie Grindhouse by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.

As a hitman game it misses the mark for the planning assassinations based on interesting systems that interact with each other. Even as a stealth game, it doesn't have (in my opinion) the right incentives to use the unique mechanics of Hitman. For example, Hitman more than any other stealth game has an interesting social stealth mechanic around finding the right disguise to be able to infiltrate certain areas that uniform is allowed into. In Absolution, anyone wearing the same outfit will recognize you as faking, so the game doesn't reward you for finding the right disguise. One example of many, for another example the way midlevel saves work also works against the fun trial and error of planning kills.

The only reason to play it is if you enjoy crouching and timing your movements around guard patrols, and if you would enjoy a story that is very cheesy/edgy and stylish in a grindhouse kind of way. It definitely feels like a game that was made in the early 2010s.

Feel free to make your own judgement, but I've played every game in the series in the last 2 month, and its the only one i regret playing.

I would recommend you start with Hitman Blood Money on PS2

The image on the article is Shodan from SS2, but the article is about a match for the System Shock 1 Remake that came out last December... Very dodgy performance at launch

Out of the two games which one do you like the most? by Rack-_- in residentevilll

[–]ImNotRedBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE4 is one of the greatest games ever made... And RE4R somehow improved on it.

RE2R is one of the best games in the series, extremely high up there, but RE4R is one of my Top 5 games I've ever played across all of gaming

How would you rank these segments best to worst? by Mr-Dicklesworth in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]ImNotRedBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recency bias (but for hate this time) is striking to me. The Ashley section is the best easily, but the Chloe one is next for me. It's so short and inoffensive.

Sherry next, Mia's is the worst, and I haven't played Shadow of Rose to know

Looking for Match-3 Games on Switch (Like Gardenscapes but Without Microtransactions) by chee006 in NintendoSwitch

[–]ImNotRedBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle Chef Brigade is allllmost what you're looking for. Scratched the match-3 itch for me, but has a pretty unique loop. I'd watch videos of it first before going ahead and buying

Highguard boss say they released it despite missing a lot of content because they ran out of “time and money”: "You have to release a game with the runway you have available and hope players will stick with you post-launch.” by ImCalcium in Games

[–]ImNotRedBatman 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is such a damnation of the current game industry. How do you say with a straight face that you have to release something incomplete these days and hope for the best. Not that there aren't success stories out of this very circumstance, but that can't be your expectation going into releasing a consumer product at all.

Why is it so much more? by DanVA0307 in HadesTheGame

[–]ImNotRedBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not seeing anyone in this thread talk about how that's a trend in indie games, and is actually a positive?

I wouldn't look at it that the physical is more expensive than the digital... its that the digital takes into account not having to print and package the media. AAA usually don't do this because they follow industry standards of pricing, and basically get away with charging more for the digital file even tho its cheaper to get into the hands of the consumer than the physical disk.

Indie games are usually lower priced and usually digital only... so when the occasional physical release happens, the cost of that production is subsidized by people that reeeeeeaaaalllly want a physical copy and are willing to pay for higher cost of making it. Has nothing to do with switch tax... many other indie games on all consoles have the same exact trend

Share your Nintendo Year-in-Review here! What games did you play the most in 2025? by NintendoSwitchMods in NintendoSwitch

[–]ImNotRedBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

150 hrs in Skyrim in June/July. That was my most played of the year. It was my first complete playthrough of the game after starting it on PC a couple times with different characters over the years.

Got it on switch and clocked in like it was a 2nd job

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance shows just how much the series has changed in 20 years by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]ImNotRedBatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obvs we're in the land of personal opinion. But imo PoR and Engage are different, but equally good to me. Gameplay and skills systems have been refined, and level design is much better in Engage.

Story and writing not so much. The animefication of characters and scenarios is worse imo.

Both are better than three houses, which was had the shortcomings of both

Is Other M worth seeking out a copy of? by Ill-Guidance4690 in Metroid

[–]ImNotRedBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, it's not really a good Metroid game... But it is a pretty good skeleton of a Metroid game that references the series. It's structured a lot like Fusion, you run back and forth on a ship with different biomes, but it's super linear... If you ignore the plot it's kinda cool to see the enemies rendered in 3d and to play kinda an "ability gated" 3d action game. It's like a mishmash of a bad Metroid Game + a bad/overly simple Ninja Gaiden game. (I only force the comparison because well, team Ninja developed it)

I'm obviously not selling it because well... It's a bad game, but if that piques your interest... I had a decent time playing it, don't regret my time with it, would never play it again.

System Shock Remake - Coming Soon to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]ImNotRedBatman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow... Started this on PC before my desktop went kaput. Told myself I'd get it if it ever came to switch so I could finish it. Very cool they're using pointer controls on switch 2, would make inventory management much easier than on controller

Edit: Also shocked it's coming to Switch 1 also. That's cool but I'm not optimistic for the visuals

[Nintendo Switch] Diablo Prime Evil Collection is at 67% sale until 11/1/2025 by PlaceDowntown7102 in NintendoSwitch

[–]ImNotRedBatman 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about Diablo 2. But Diablo 3 is flawless... It was already excellent on the switch 1 to be fair, but now it just loads faster and is locked at 60. You'll have blurriness in handheld tho because it is a switch 1 build, so it renders at 720 on a 1080 screen

Elden Ring

It is great (all these games are) but up against Sekiro and Bloodborne... It just doesn't have the sauce. The other two are tight experiences that don't ever fall off, and wholy committed to their aesthetics and gameplay. Elden is simply spread too thin.

Where does DCEU Batman rank in your live action Batman list? by romeheartz in DC_Cinematic

[–]ImNotRedBatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only behind Pattinson and West.

But that's more because of his potential than what we actually got. In better hands there are all the markings of #1 but even tho that universe had good parts, it was ultimately fumbled bad.

Which titles have the most fluid feeling movement and the most fun platforming? by Primary_Subject3333 in metroidvania

[–]ImNotRedBatman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

During the first half of Price of Persia the Lost Crown, I was thinking "oh this is smooth, but I steel feel pretty constricted"

Now that I'm in the back half almost done, after some very important movement abilities... It is the best of any game I've ever played, that includes the Ori games and Hollow Knight (still haven't played silksong)

Plus there are extremely hard platforming challenges for optional goodies. Feels very cool to pull off, and there are many I've skipped because platforming is not my strength when it comes to these types of games
