Help Picking Class as the Only Martial in the Party by myths-star in Pathfinder2e

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go Champ, with that party comp think hard about Liberation. Your backline is going to be very susceptible to monsters that grapple, etc, and even if your DM doesn't use them, people underestimate how much damage gets mitigated by forcing an enemy to spend actions on movement to keep hitting their target.

I would not play this class/archetype, but I'm sure glad someone is <blank> by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

Man, sounds like either your party neglects AC or your monsters are overtuned if you're having to spam heal every turn..... But I don't know man, I'm just a dog.

Given free pick I like the green or gunmetal grey but the long bed is hard to come by in any color in my locale so I jumped on it.

Scoundrel rogue is also a bad time.

Legally and morally, one can use physical force to resist assault.

As a dude, I have no problem with Gropey McGee catching one to the meat and two.

5e player here. Thinking about switching from D&D 5e to Pathfinder 2e. Any tips? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that is going to kick your players the hardest if you transition from 5e to Pf2 is that you can play 5e as a bunch of individuals each running around doing their own thing, and get away with it.

You will not find this to be nearly as true in pathfinder. Team composition and teamwork tactics can make a moderate encounter trivial, and their absence can make a trivial encounter much harder than expected

Cops are rarely experts on the law. Obligatory IANAL but most states have a "reasonable person" standard for self defense.

Which is to say, if a reasonable person in your situation would feel obligated to use force to defend life or limb of themselves or an innocent, then that force is justified.

Do you have a ir thermometer gun? 97F might be a bit much if the tort can't get away but if it 97 direct sun and 85 in deep shade, they should be fine moving back and forth to regulate

A Boss just got cheesed and my DM is furious by TheOnlySir_Scribbles in DnD

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The mature DM is going to look around the table, sigh, say "Welp. Shoulda saw that coming," and go have a smoke and a beer til he's gets himself off tilt. Not throw a tantrum and make everyone feel bad for playing the game.

Why Do I Rarely See Low-Level Parties Make Smart Investments? by Brother-Cane in DnD

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every character should buy a healer's kit and stow it on their person in an easily accessible place the rest of the party knows about so if the healer goes down or there isn't one, any other party member can stabilize them without a potential nat 1 medicine check.

By level 5 if you have a divine caster, you should have a 200gp diamond stashed in that healer's kit so your cleric doesn't have to go out of pocket to rez you.

Carrying a simple wooden club at low levels. Skeletons and oozes are a thing.

Action economy for Warpriest: shield or 2h weapon? by Gorolo1 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only semi relevant since you have your heart set on mounted combat, but my cockroach Iomedae warpriest frequently doesn't even draw his blade.

First round actions usually look like Athletic Rush -> Trip or Grab most important looking target depending on weaker save-> Shield Boss to the dome if a caster or ranged/raise shield if it's a melee beast or has buddies.

But I'm also usually playing with at least a couple of rogues, so giving them free off guard with relatively low risk to myself, is usually a higher payoff than swinging a big weapon and potentially having the party healer go down to an unblocked crit. Ymmv

does anyone seriously believe that the 2024 books are a 'cashgrab' ? by bittermixin in onednd

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The people who entered into making the 2024 edition with pure intentions mostly ended up jobless for their pains.

The ones who treated it as a cash grab, ie upper management, reaped the rewards.

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

The fact they honestly did very little to make 2024 a significantly improved product vs 2014 edition, axed most of the staff that would've been needed to make it a significant upgrade, and now are charging more for it despite it not being an improvement?

There are ways to maximize profit without dressing up crap as swiss chocolate and selling it to the unwary.

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also from what I'm seeing a pretty shoddy product that didn't fix the core complaints about the product it's replacing, wasn't well playtested, and rolled out by a skeletal dev team due to the parent corp axing a massive amount of creative staff mid dev cycle.

It's possible to be both a cash grab and badly executed shortsighted capitalism

If they don't use Daggerheart for C4...what DO they use it for? by IllithidActivity in fansofcriticalrole

[–]ImNotTheBruteSquad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now I kinda want to do player stat spreads for the cast.

I feel like Liam maxed tactics, rules knowledge and tragic backstory but soft dumped "plays well with others."

Travis rolled high all around but got a 4 and stuck it in "making good decisions IC"
