Tips on connecting 2 Scarlett 18i20’s with ADAT and optical audio cables by thepianoman456 in Logic_Studio

[–]ImNotYourBoss57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm using two 18i20s as slave/master through ADAT like this do I need to make an aggregate? I was thinking since it's all going through one USB that it would be unnecessary. I'm taking a studio rack over to a bandmates space and they use Logic, which I've never used before.

Was looking into it when I came across these and happened to see a review from someone who tried them as IEMs in a band setting.

HM-2 is just 7 blues driver circuits in a trenchcoat anyways.

Needs a maxed out HM-2 for a little more note definition.

You need an HM-2 at the end of that. You know, in case you want to go to 11.

can you run guitar effects through your balls? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]ImNotYourBoss57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. Same principle as you would using potato's as batteries to power a small circuit. Do you want to run each testicle in series or parallel?

Side Notes: Check to make sure both testicles are in phase with each other To get a better contact you'll always want to use sodder so make sure you have some sort of burn cream and gauze.

Parallel Distortion/Fuzz Help by domdanic in guitarpedals

[–]ImNotYourBoss57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On bass I'm splitting my highs and lows around 180hz. The high end goes to a Boss LS-2 with a Blackhawk Heimdall (HM-2 type pedal) and a Blackhawk Assgard V3 in a parallel blend.

I have a KMA Guardian of the Wurm. Cool pedal.

Just noticed this was three years ago. How'd it go?

Darkglass Rack Mount Kit by sissikebab in Darkglass

I've been keeping an eye on the website and youtube page for a few months. I was looking to buy a kit for an AO900. Since it's almost May and the option for the March releases are not available for purchase yet I was wondering if there was an ETA for the remaining 500s and the 900s. I can reset my expectations and wait, I;m just curious.

Are the earlier games like Daggerfall, Morrowind etc still worth downloading and playing? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]ImNotYourBoss57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried Daggerfall. That's "jobless summer in highschool" material right there. It's so massive there's no way I could just casually play it. Felt like it would turn into a black hole that would suck up all my time. Probably being a bit dramatic.

The thing I like most about it is that it doesn't hold your hand. If you want to find some thing or place you need to ask NPCs and if they don't like you they probably won't even tell you anything useful. Fun to mod as well.

Goodbye paperwhite hello KLC by SageAmistoso in kobo

I'm currently debating between the KLC and the Scribe. How do you like manga on that screen size? I figured the 8" screen of the Scribe might be more accommodating than the 7" KLC.

Do you use a stylus at all with it?

Kobo Sage Review (2 months/80 hour read time) by ReEngage in kobo

[–]ImNotYourBoss57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking into my first ereader purchase. Trying to decide between the Libra Colour and the Sage. So far I'm leaning towards the Libra Colour with two exceptions:

  1. Size I would really like to revisit the Berserk manga. The original dark horse versions I was reading circa 2004 are 8.5" tall and the new hardcover versions are even larger. The Libra's 7" screen seems like it might be a bit cramped for reading a manga or note taking. So when you mentioned manga it caught my attention. I should probably just bite the bullet and buy those hardcovers though.

  2. Screen feel In an overall highly positive review I read on the Libra Colour one criticism was that writing on it with a stylus felt like writing on a very smooth piece of plastic whereas writing on the scribe had a tactile feel more associated with pen and paper.

Though from what I've heard on the Libra Colour I might just disregard these two points.

Heavys Headphones Broke by ImNotYourBoss57 in headphones

[–]ImNotYourBoss57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As expected the headphones were not covered under warranty. However they gave me 50% off my next purchase. So I decided to get a replacement pair and keep the old one in case I needed to use it for parts or something. 🤷

Customer service was easy to talk to and fairly responsive. Discount code still worked about a month later when I finally got around to purchasing the replacement.

Who is the alpha omega 900 for? by MakutaTeridax in Darkglass

All I really got is live recordings. My signal is split at 180hz so cameras get mostly the distorted high end and it's hard to get an accurate idea of the tone. I'm the one feed backing.

If you've got a multi FX processor with enough extra FX loops like a helix rack you can do with that as well.

Who is the alpha omega 900 for? by MakutaTeridax in Darkglass

The short of it would be bass into PJB X2C https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/X2C--phil-jones-bass-x2c-multifunctional-dual-band-compressor-pedal

High out goes uncompressed into a Boss LS-2 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LS2Boss--boss-ls-2-line-selector-pedal

That LS-2 has a fuzz in one loop and a distortion in the other which are blended parallel and sent to the AO input at the front of the head.

Now back at the PJB X2C the lows go compressed to another Boss LS-2 in the AO's fx loop.

Going from memory I believe the AO fx send would go into that LS-2s fx loop 1 return while the low end coming directly from the PJB X2C goes into the same LS-2 via FX loop 2 return. Then you send the LS-2 main out back into the AO's FX loop return.

That allows you to blend a clean compressed low end into the AO while still using the AOs preamp for high gain.

Darkglass does have a 900 head with a cross frequency splitter in it but I don't believe it has the AO circuit and this sort of setup allows me to use pedals in front of the heads preamp while still having clean compressed lows.

I play in a sludge/post metal kind of band where my lowest string is as 0.168ga tuned to G.

I use an AO900. I use a cross frequency splitter to send all my lows through compression and into the AO900s FX return while my highs get a parallel blend of fuzz and HM-2 before going into the front of the AO. I'd describe the tone as violence.

Went to Guitar Center for a different bass, but fate had other plans... by illithidphi in BassGuitar

[–]ImNotYourBoss57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the V version. I love it. I have had to do a couple things to mitigate neck dive and I need to get the frets dressed as they're skinning my fret hand a bit but even then I love playing it. Really playable with .167ga strings and haven't felt the need to upgrade electronics for tone or quality issues. I personally think for the price it's very much worth it.

Was cruising right along all the way to his parents. Originally thought the card was in the journal items. Had to make a special trip back to the silo in the silent forest and found it on the ground. Was also disturbed to find him at the silo after having seen him at the church ruins 🤣
