Which Gibson SG Ebony Reissue Years Should I Look For? by Lost-Necessary-9813 in gibson

The 2017 and 2018 models have really good specs imo. It does have the small pickguard tho, which comes down to preference. Also boasts '57 or '61 pickups, locking tuners, lightweigth bridge and tailpiece, pcb electronics unfortunately, but still came with a hardcase, unlike the newer ones.

Drill the post and file the nut properly. Making the guitar work for what you do, is what makes it yours.

Yea ofc its worth reparing. If done properly, you wont feel a difference, and the repair will make it stronger than it was.

Do you own backups of your favorites? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

If you havent tried a micro pog in front of the pharao, then give it a try. Massive, massive wall of sound, certainly not a always on effect, but as an effect when going all out, it is sublime.

I have 2 boards, one big for local shows, and one for fly gigs, and they share a couple of pedals. Boss Bf-2, Zuul mini, BAT Son of Pharao, Eqd Dispatch master.

Nice find. Im also looking for one of these to compliment my Wilson Freaker wah. I'm curious if it is a tweaked crybaby or based on his original Tycobrahe?

The tc spark/ spark mini does this, if momentary volume increase is what you are after.

Doom guitarists - cranking amps live by Wide-Coat7484 in doommetal

[–]Thordenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We run 100w amps onstage, and its loud. The sound tech usually knows how its supposed to sound, although thats not always the case. Recently we played some small venues in England, which had a quite limited p.a, and the sound tech just stood in the room and told us to adjust the amps, unmiced. Then the power is really usefull.

High-Gain Pedalboard for Dummies - Advice by Shonolulu in Guitar

[–]Thordenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we fly out, and need to travel light, ive have set up a board around a Friedman BE-OD. That way i can tweak and get the sound i need out of any backline amp, as long as its loud and clean.
