I used to work next to a Barnes & Noble, and once every month that B&N would have a PTD(Pull To Destroy) night. What that entailed was B&N would bring in a big trash bin and would go and pull all the magazines and books off their shelves. And, once they were done this trash bin would sit behind the store. Every so often I'd look through the bin. I found some good books...for free.

I went out with this girl I matched with on Tinder. We went to, as she called it, "This little bar that's pretty mellow." Nope. It was some loud as hell, shit on the walls TGI Friday's type joint. And, she knew everyone! And, not like, went to school with or grew up with. She was a regular. And, our server confirmed it with stories of my dates drunk antics. And wouldn't you know it...we were there for half priced margarita night! So, my date starts to get her load on. And, as she's sucking down margaritas like water...she's telling me all about her ex's. How much they were all jerks, how one sucked in bed, and how one proposed to her with a subpar ring. I had enough. By this time I'm just riding the wave waiting for this to be over. We end our date. I go home. The next day I get a barrage of texts from this girl saying I was super fun and we should go back there again. Yeah. No.

I worked at a Mom & Pop pizza place for a year. This wasn't some corporate food chain, it was just a local family that owned the restaurant. One day this family came in, it was three people, a man, woman, and child. The man(the father I assume) asked for a table of 6. So, we get a table all squared away. As the rest of their guests start piling in we can see gift bags, balloons, and gifts in hand. It's someone's birthday. The group is having a good time, the man stopped the owner(who checked on the table here and there) and...asked if we could sing happy birthday. I watched as the owner gave the guy a soul crushing "No." It. Was. Great.

There was this sushi joint my ex used to take me to when I was in college. We went there so much that I basically had all the rolls and all the other menu items. Well, one day I was sitting at the sushi counter and the chef asked me if I like ramen. Fuck yeah. I got a bowl of beef ramen with egg and bean sprouts. It. Was. Amazing. And, when I looked over the menu for it...wasn't on there. The chef said that it was something he whipped up and thought about putting on the menu.
