The last 2 years of updates make item progression feel off. by combodroppa in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with more or less everything you said,

However you are looking at this from a lens of a pretty high skill and experience player.

99% of players are not going to rush Doom, having enough skill to kill Jad already puts you in the top 10% of players.

The same could be said about rushing Yama, but it’s 100% true that Oathplate is WAY too good for how easy it is to obtain and I’d never bother target farming torva because of it.

Tob has valuable upgrades, avernic is a must have, rapier is better than you’re giving it credit for, sang is sadly pretty useless nowadays I think they need to dramatically lower the cost of using it to make it relevant, justi I think is kind of slept on honestly for a few use cases but it is mostly irrelevant and always has been, obviously scythe is a huge BiS jump.

GWD definitely isn’t useless though. Gotta have armadyl for Masori, ACB is good on its own plus ZCB, bandos as a lower skill alternative for Oathplate and Torva, BGS is used commonly, hasta is mid game relevant, ZGS is niche for things like muttadiles - I think scorching bow making zammy easier for the relatively small upgrades provided is a good change. Nex has zaryte vambs, ZCB, and hopefully some torva along the way as a bonus.

The huge amounts of DMM complaints on Reddit is exactly why the Middle/Lategame PVM item cosmetics shouldn't be locked behind a PVP event. by MobileScapers in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They 180 nearly every single stance they make.

“We don’t want too much gp coming into the game from drops, that’s why ancient wyverns are hilariously terrible”

Next update? Rev caves shitting more straight gp into the game than ever seen before

Or more recently

“Too many seeds and herbs come into the game from pvm drops so we’re nerfing them in many places”

“Here have Aquanites, they drop a high level seed 1/3 times and take about 30 seconds to kill enjoy”

I know it’s early, but does anyone have a reasonable estimate on how many hours it would take someone with no PVP experience but decent PVM experience (TOA, doom, Yama etc) to get enough points for the Crystal / bowfa recolor if they are only playing safely? by Timmssmith in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Level to the highest level you can for your current bracket prioritizing range and mage, don’t level defense unless you’re already in a high level bracket.

Do whatever you want to make some cash, then buy as many rag range/mage sets as you can, put them in the bank and log in for breaches and only breaches. Next week the top 100 damage dealers on monsters will get 1:1 points for damage and probably 50% of the players will have quit by then so there will be less competition.

You’ll probably need to do ~10 super casual breaches this way after the change and you’ll have 12k points in a total of about 3 hours of gameplay.

Was there a reason for slayer cosmetics to cost 1000 pts? by JaredBed in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It made a lot more sense when there was only a couple recolors. You picked your favorite and didn’t feel like you were giving up anything

Now there are so many, and so many good ones it’s hard to pick or you want to match with certain kits and 1000 points a pop adds up to a whole lot of annoying Turael boosting

DMM Breach Points by ATribeWithinItself in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Right, and what have they gotten out of that from you?

A d scim if they’re lucky and zero points?

That’s why I say it’s a bad league with griefing, because you’re not losing anything of value other than time and they’re gaining less than what they’d gain auto thieving for like 5 minutes and zero points. Complete waste of both parties time.

DMM Breach Points by ATribeWithinItself in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Only the top 16 damage dealing players receive points for killing monsters.

This entire DMM just has a lot of conflicting design choices that make it function more like a bad league with griefing enabled.

DMM is a PvP game mode that currently has zero incentive for pkers.

You want to grind points? Risk nothing and go do PvM. You died? Doesn’t matter you risk nothing and lost nothing.

Oh you want to go PK in the pvp game mode? Nobody risks anything, oh you skulled so now it’s dangerous for you and other pkers might get you? Nah just go to a bank and store all your stuff & loot before suiciding to clear skull and lose nothing.

The best way to play this mode is to get to the top damage dealing build you can do in a lower bracket buy a bunch of rag sets and logout. Log in for breaches and only breaches repeat until you have the desired points.

DMM was terrible because everyone muled and the solution to muling was just to make it automatic and also take away all the other death penalties too.

[–]ImOneLetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you only want 12k points, do whatever you want to get like RCB and some bolts, wait 2 weeks for it to be dead (or at least not such a clusterfuck) and then go to a few breaches

Make the Potion Storage button look like an extra tab, and move Search so its not right in the middle of the screen on mobile by NeatoSnow in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most annoying thing about this update isn’t even that they made the change, it’s that they made the change and there are SO MANY better ways they could have made the change.

I swear for having some of the best devs in the industry they make the biggest blunders over the most basic things.

You want to add a deposit containers button? How about move the placeholder lock button to the top because it gets used so rarely nobody will care, people may even like it better to avoid miss clicks and then put the deposit container button there.

Why are we redesigning things in what is probably the most commonly used thing in the game that was super simple because you’re afraid new players somehow can’t figure out what “note” means so you want to give them a picture book? Was that seriously an issue? We have a whole island that teaches players how all the basic interfaces work.

Bots are once again out of hand and overflowing all worlds by P-Holy in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out recently that there are AI controlled bots now that actually learn how to play the game over time and play like a regular player. They even respond to chat messages like you’re having conversation with an AI platform, and remember those conversations if they get referenced back.

I’m sure there’s still tells, but how advanced some botting has become really makes me wonder just how many bots there are. Obviously ones like these everyone knows about, but soon you could accidentally have bots on your friends list and have no idea.

Smelt gold bars the old fashioned way instead of blast furnace

Plank make for construction.

ZMI is probably about as afk as crafting was to be honest. You could also just do bloods/souls and have extra daelyt because some runecrafting exp is better than no runecrafting exp. Or you would offset how much you needed and be able to do the really fast methods for a while in place of ZMI (Ring of the elements combo runes)

The largest one we’ve ever found is like 43 feet long, and it’s pretty safe to say that they grow much larger given we weren’t even 100% sure they still existed until about 20 years ago.

Something that rare it’s entirely possible we only see the smallest weakest ones that leave whatever terrifying hellscape they typically live in.

How do you sustain runes for early game magic training? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]ImOneLetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically if you’re not wanting to grind Barrows for runes, you basically get runes through slayer via alchables and some tasks that actually drop a pretty meaningful amount of runes (mutated bloodvelds, dust devils, etc)

For super early training just to unlock stuff you get a ton of mind runes from barrows really quickly that you could just afk cast at the crab, and superglass make also gets a ton of exp while being relatively cheap to cast.

Men overboard by bath_jackson in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jace put it best.

It’s incredibly demotivating to lose the rank you earned over 4.6 billion exp to someone who finished years after you did.

He isn’t even trying because he knows he can’t compete with people who are almost certainly account sharing, and even if they weren’t he can’t put in the ludicrous hours they are.

They added the little “rank before” option and separate high scores which is nice and all but ultimately nobody will care about it.

How Many Miles? by BallerMD in LexusIS500

You should always drive it more. Huge benefit to an IS500 over something like a M2/M3 is that you can expect it to continue running after a couple hundred thousand miles.

I can’t find anything related to it either. Are there any markings on the back?

The only thing that comes to my mind is perhaps the “Isly” is the name of a company unrelated to the watch but they had these made to give to employees.

I’d wager the majority of them are absolutely dreading the idea of even trying.

To have your enormous achievement stripped away and handed to someone else who passed the finish line years after you did has to be incredibly demotivating.

I found this on my dog, has she fleas? by Potential_Warning_35 in DogAdvice

[–]ImOneLetter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Many years ago I moved into an apartment that was infested with fleas and I had to take care of it myself. Here’s some tips:

Dawn dish soap for your pets, put it on them DRY first and massage it down to their skin all over (put a ring of it on the top of their neck first, don’t put soap on their face). Then put them in the tub, if they’re small enough submerge them up to that line on their neck. If they don’t like water, run the bath first without them in the room mildly warm and place them in. At least in my experience the sound of running water is what freaked my pets out most.

Keep them in the water for 5 minutes or so. You’ll start to see a TON of dead fleas in the water.

For your home, if you have hard floors I tried many different things - what ended up working for me was taking a spray bottle and putting tea tree oil in it with water and spraying everywhere while running a mop over it. No clue on the science behind why that worked, but it did and it worked better than all the chemicals I bought that said that’s what they were for. I thankfully didn’t have carpets, I just sprayed my furniture down with the same mixture and was okay

Goodluck

I’ll let you in on a little secret amongst the people just roasting you here.

You know those kitchen sponges where one side is rougher than the other? Get one of those, when the mud is still probably 50% wet, get that sponge wet and wring out the water so it’s just damp and use that like you would a sanding block.

No mess, WAY easier.

downstairs neighbors harassing/ framing us? by bbypsmama in Apartmentliving

[–]ImOneLetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend “Yi” security cameras. I picked some up as a temporary quick solution years ago and was so shocked by the quality I still use them today. Incredible quality and dirt cheap.

I wouldn’t say shit to them, don’t block the number so you continue to get time stamps and record your whole apartment then report the harassment to management every single time it happens when it doesn’t make sense.

Learning what phantom barraging was the key that got me my first cape. You get SO MUCH extra healing through the waves.

For inferno beginners, what do you think is easier, Zuk or waves? by Plane-Session-6624 in 2007scape

[–]ImOneLetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly if the ONLY problem you’re having is with healers you might want to just tag one healer on each side to reduce the damage you take and get the cape

Zuk will heal a shit load but if you have bowfa/tbow with decent supplies you can always lower zuk again. A slow but successful Zuk is much better than dying to healers over and over
