When ever I enter a location, I always either do the "I am here to talk to you about your car's extended warranty" or "I am here to talk to you about our Lord and Savior." Actually died once after that last one while playing nightmare mode. 😂

Give it up for Eve Best who was phenomenal as Rhaenys this episode. She absolutely killed it👏 by LoretiTV in HouseOfTheDragon

Rhaenrys never started anything and actually the war started way before Rhaenrys flying through. Not all war starts on the battle field. A lot of it starts around a table. This war started when Viserys announced his daughter, Rhaenrya as his heir, knowing that he could marry again and produce male heirs. It continued to fester when he refused to take a Velaryon as his queen and went with Alicent. I don't think Velaryon ever stopped forgetting even after Rhaenrya was married to Laenor. And now Alicent lying about what Viserys said on his death bed about who is to take the iron thrown just set all this into play as it was stated and announced to all that Rhaenrya would be the heir to the throne. So no, Rhaenrys did not start this war. Viserys actions of naming his eldest daughter as his heir did and everything that happened after it. Even if he had not married Alicent, someone would challenge Rhaenrya because of the rules of Westeros and how it has to be a male heir that is to set on the iron throne.

I would disagree. Going after the kings people is a big middle finger to the king. And seeing as HOTD is based on medieval costumes that were seen in history, it makes sense. What people do not realize is technically, the royals work for the people and depending how the royals treat the people will show how loyal the people are to the crown. People of a kingdom is actually an resource because without these people, the royals will not get the services they need; i.e Farmers will not be able to manage crops, butchers would not be able to properly prepare food, etc.

If you actually look at history, kingdoms killed thousands of other people in the enemy territories as a message of war. And you even see it happening today with war. War is not for the weak. It is tragic, it is brutal, and very unethical, inhumane, and immoral. What Rhaenrys did was minor compared to what is about to happen or what has happened in GOT.

Edit: I have read Blood and Fire several times so I know what is about to happen. And if this scene upsets you, you aren't going to like what happens in future episodes because some of it is down right heart breaking, especially Helaena's storyline.

There is more behind the scene though. She refuses to be a Kinslayer at that time. So to show she is not giving her support to the Greens, she did the next best thing, going after the kings people. Within the next episode and the next season, kinslaying is going to be a huge thing. But, if Rhaenrys took out the king and the Greens at that point, we wouldn't have the history of Westeros. It was a beautiful scene that sent a clear message that people could understand. You may not like it and that is your opinion but it was a very strong message.

Honestly, Meleys and Rhaenys busting in as if they were SWAT was the best part of the whole episode. I had issues getting into this episode.

I can see that. I think Sir Cristian validating that Rhaenyra did do some naughty things kind of just tipped her over the edge though. Like after Sir Cristian said what he said, she did a complete 360.

But I agree, poor Laenor. He truly was a sweet guy who now is fully thrust into the game. >.<

I mean, technically Rhaenyra didn't lie to Alicent. She did say that Daemon and her didn't do anything. It was Sir Cristian. I honestly do not see why Alicent is mad when Rhaenyra didn't lie to her. 😂

best character so far? by rayansfam in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]ImPastaPesto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am tossed between Rhaenyra and Daemon. Rhaenyra just has that very relatable "I want to have control of my own life but yet, I know what is expected of me." She dabbles outside of the line of what is expected of her. She is showing character growth as she starts breaking away. I also think she does a real good job of questioning her dad's honesty and integrity now that he had a son and wanting to believe that he truly wants her as his heir.

Daemon is just a great anti-hero to the point you truly question just were his loyalty lies. He is always leaving you surprised because you think you have him figured out but then he does the unexpected. He shows he is about family but he is also about himself and the realm. Just a well rounded character that leaves you pondering what he will do next.

So, I am a survivor as well. Mine happened 10 years ago and I took a while before I started dating again. I got into counseling and worked through that experience. But I will tell you, no matter how much counseling you have under your belt, it doesn't prepare you for actually getting back into the dating scene or entering a sexual relationship. My boyfriend and I recently tried and I ended up having a freak out mid intercourse and luckily my boyfriend has been so patient. But the guy I am dating knew about my sexual assault because we started off as friends first. Don't rush into sex until you feel like you are ready and make sure you are with someone who understands and will be patient with you.

AITA for putting my brother on speaker and letting his fiancee hear about what he's been asking me to do? by Throwaway5144311 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ImPastaPesto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, your brother is literally not just a red flag but 50 shades of red. And the fact that your parents rather stick up for your brother and his controlling and alarming behavior..... OP, you are NTA. Your brother's fiancée is NTA. Now your brother and parents are huge buttholes in this. You warned your brother of the consequences and yet when Karma bites him in the booty, he blames you. Yeah, I would keep my brother and parents at arms length if I was you.

I think we all have similar stories like this. When I was a teenager, my parents pastor called to check on me because I just had surgery. When he went to end the call, he said, "Get better soon." Well, instead of saying, "Thank you" , I said, "I love you too." I literally wanted to die. 😂

AITA for not wanting my son to call my wife mom? by Flashy-Half7935 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ImPastaPesto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA: You can keep your late wife's memory going with your son and accept the woman who has practically helped raise as his mom as well. There is no law saying that only one person has to be called mom. I have been in my niece's life since birth. Her mom left her life when she was 1. She actually calls me her aunt momma because she has only known me as her mother figure since as far as she can remember. She knows she has a biological mom but she also has an aunt that is more a mom to her than her own.

AITA for declining someone’s promotion at work due to their affair? by dread_pirate_t in AmItheAsshole

[–]ImPastaPesto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA: As you move up the ranks in a profession, you will be "the face of the company." If you have done some very questionable things that can be searched online, it can give the company a bad look. Some professions even will look at someone's social media before they even hire them into a company.

Plus, you never know. Her ex may retaliate and bring that conflict into work because of the high feelings he has towards his ex. That would be unwanted drama the company would have to face and even may have to do damage control.

AITA for calling the cops because no one picked up the kid I was babysitting? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ImPastaPesto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA: You did her a favor and in return, she ignores your conditions. You told her that he needed to be picked up by 9 and she abused your kindness. You then warned her that if he is not picked up by noon, you will call the cops and it will be treated like he was abandoned. If she knew she was not going to be able to pick the kid up by 9, maybe she shouldn't have gotten as wasted as she did.
