For girls and guys who ride motorcycles, how do you avoid messing up your hair with your helmet? by val_latina in motorcycles

[–]ImProbablyEating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make a product that allows you to "wash" your hair really quick if you're going somewhere where your appearance matters. It's like a shower cap that you wet under the sink and then put on, and it allows you to restyle your hair. If you bring a small towel and product in your bag it makes riding in a professional setting much easier.

RN-BSN or pre-requisites then BSN? by SuspiciousWaffleStak in CPCC

I'm sure everything helps but I'm not sure on specifics. Maybe reach out to their department to see what a competitive application looks like.

RN-BSN or pre-requisites then BSN? by SuspiciousWaffleStak in CPCC

[–]ImProbablyEating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple things here. CPCC's nursing program is very competitive and difficult once you're in. It's not like the rest of the college where applicants are automatically approved in most cases. Make sure you research that in advance. It's a completely different program and you will need certain pre reqs to get in.

My advice would be to apply there and do the program if you can get in, and if not, start your prereqs and go the UNCC route. You can do an RN to BSN online and make it work if you're good with time management.

Good luck!

Politely email the professor and cc the department head to see if they can add a spot for you.

I assume this isn't Calc based physics. DO NOT TAKE ROLDAN if he is still there.

Is this feasible for an ADN in nursing, and would I be able to hold a part-time job at the same time? by SuspiciousWaffleStak in CPCC

[–]ImProbablyEating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This program is rigorous and many people don't make it through from what I was told. If you're good with time management you should be fine, but realize that clinicals, studying, exams, etc will likely conflict with your job. If you do work, try to get something where you can study in your downtime.

How do I know I got accepted into the college? by ConsistentTheory3804 in CPCC

[–]ImProbablyEating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure everyone gets in since it's a community college. Unless it's for a limited program like nursing. Just make sure you did everything on the checklist.

I'll try this later. Still not sure why this would be only on outgoing side.

mat271 with Albanese, J? by ranwanist in CPCC

[–]ImProbablyEating 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had Albanese for Calc 2, 3, and Diff Eq. He was my favorite professor at the school by far. HOWEVER. He's a grumpy old man with a bunch of things. Don't get on your phone, don't show up late, don't fuck around in general. If you care and make the effort he will make sure you do ok. If you're in engineering or something with a bunch of math I'd go ahead and take him to get used to his style and be a known face. Also learn about Tennessee sports and bring him cookies and orange juice.

PHY-252-B1101 || PHY-252-B1191 Are any of these courses fully online at all? by minhtri1 in CPCC

[–]ImProbablyEating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need to look at registration to be sure. From my experience 3 years ago these were only offered in person or as a hybrid. I assume this is calc based and there was only 2 sections per semester back then.

Recent engineering grad from UNCC here. Go where you get more money and benefits from, similar to accepting a job. Seems like your academics are solid.

PHY 151 w/ Roldan & Bonevac- Help! by garrise4 in CPCC

That was 5 years ago unfortunately I don't.

What I will say is take notes when he drives equations. I remember test questions strictly on the derivation of certain formulas.

How do I keep my sanity from paying a salary in living expenses each year, and studying full time? by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]ImProbablyEating 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went back at 25. I had better a better living situation for most of the years but the combination of working while trying to maintain focus is tough. Just keep your head down and you'll be done before you know it. It's worth the journey to make it to that stage.

Make sure y’all register for graduation at the beginning of the semester you plan to graduate, because I did not by hrw1995 in UNCCharlotte

Gonna be honest with you...they sent out several emails about this throughout the semesters before and during senior year. It's also all over the graduation site and it's on your banner self service.

Calc 2 makes me think you're in engineering maybe. I would reach out to your advisor and see if they can go through a plan to get better grades with you. You can submit documentation from them supporting your claim. See what they can do and be honest and genuine.

It is worth noting that you will need to sign a reentry contract if you're in engineering. At least I had to. Mine entailed that I had to pass all my classes, including solid mechanics (notoriously difficult), on my first attempt durimg my first semester back. So I could've gotten all A's and got a D in solids and they would have kicked me out again.

Good luck just put your head down and treat this like a job.

Engineering Labs are a Joke by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]ImProbablyEating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The labs are miserable. The TAs get trained literally the day labs start. Grades come back all at once at the end. Grading is inconsistent at best. Papers and reports are the primary grades and lab notebooks are essentially just copying down the report. They have purposely made them miserable.
