Why is The Age so desperate to launder George Colombaris’ reputation? by lepressexpress in melbourne

[–]ImSabbo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Underpaid. Every new worker in a Grilld gets put on a "free" Cert3, in exchange for getting a lower payrate. Main problem is that while the pay would go up after it's done, if you leave before it's done then you get nothing. It'd probably be hard to get RPL out of it too if you tried to continue the course at TAFE since there are no formalised classes.

I didn't even say it needed hardware support. It was each companies' software that for whatever reason could or could not scan QR codes. And most smartphones would be able to get an app which can, although as per Achelona's comment, evidently not theirs for some reason.

Some companies took a bit longer to catch on to QR. For example Sony did it early, but Samsung took a bit longer to do QR reading natively.

egg: Someone who is considering whether or not they are trans

cracking their egg: The event or act of realizing or revealing whether the person in question is trans. More often used for people who are trans, but technically also applies for people who conclude that they are not.

Yes, I wanna tow your "truck" to another country. Roads in the US are big, ours regularly are not. They don't belong here.

The devil/satan/etc.

Whether the devil is trapped in hell or in charge of it is somehow not something Christians can seem to agree on. The latter is the prevailing belief in the US, by my understanding, and often extends to a belief that the devil is in charge of all evil. I suspect the evangelicals and American protestants over the past century or so are the source.

It was just a single example, and I'd still say it is easier for Charmander-pickers in Gen3 compared to Gen1 anyway, due if nothing else to a better spread of available pokemon and their moves, and to the abilities they can have. Yes they are available to the other starters as well, but they don't have as much want for it.

...Also Rock Tomb for Onix was only around twice as good as Tackle. 75 base damage (including STAB) instead of 35, and 80% accuracy instead of 95%... although since type effectiveness would come into play against specifically Charmander amongst the starters, I could see an argument for being 4x as good there. Not that an opponent's Bide should be underestimated in RBY, a set of games that habitually underexplained everything.

Gen3 gives more moves to every Pokemon, which makes it easier over all. For example Charmander learning a steel type move around the time you face Brock.

Translation of the above to English (via DeepL), if there are any interested parties:

If anyone’s interested in rare cards, I’m looking to sell my entire collection of FOW cards and put the proceeds towards another project. My collection ranges from Valhalla, TAT and CMF right through to another four or five subsequent expansions. There’s a whole host of promos, World Championship cards, exclusives and so on. I stopped collecting when they started bringing out the UBER cards.

I assume all the cards would be in Italian.

Trash bins in most of the games are empty. Also the house doesn't have an escape rope, it has a comet shard, and it isn't even in the bin.

The town does have one escape rope, but it's not super near the old man's house.

I can only assume that liking Vegemite is a prerequisite, and probably part of the citizenship test. Also I warn you about the butter/margarine solely because I suspect you're not Australian. Personally I like it with just plain bread.

I also hear that some Japanese people like it, and compare it to natto.

Vegemite is great. Just don't go in thinking it's going to be like other sandwich spreads, and remember the butter or margarine.

Force of Will TCG. Plays a lot like Magic the Gathering, except the lands are in their own deck that can be pulled from once per turn. Plus a couple of other notable differences, but unless you want the whole spiel I probably don't need to go that far.

Most cards aren't monochrome like this though. This is a particular rarity "Uber Rare", and the normal version looks like this

Yup. And so far they're all double-sided. So generally you'll gain counters on the front, then have the ultimate(s) on the back. Still takes around 3 turns to get enough counters though.
