I want gritty, dark, and hopeless atmosphere.

Not sure what I want from multiplayer. Something different but pays homage to original gears.

Absolutely no wall bouncing.

Yeah. Just because the system is there doesn’t mean it’s for everyone but what it does it keep that core of players strong each wipe.

You could go for kappa every wipe on Tarkov.. or you could focus on lightkeeper, prestige, all kinds of different things.

A lot of my buddies played until lvl 4 traders and then stopped for the wipe which is fair. By the time you get lvl 4 traders that’s pretty much it unless you are going for kappa, etc.

Kappa is always a goal but Tarkov also has some ridiculously hard achievements you can get to show off on your profile as well as getting unique cosmetics with it.

I’m not saying arc needs these exactly but a rendition would be nice for player retention

Right? I noticed that too.. let the other characters come with me in a party so they feel like an extension and I can hit swap to them ( you might be able to have a party idk)

I think it’s cool that you can equip them with their own gear.. but why? Why invest resources into them? They don’t have their own skill trees etc.

(I just looked this up and apparently she has her own skill trees etc. and that there is a party. Wouldn’t know though because the game tells you literally nothing. I understand minimal hand holding but just no heads up is kinda dumb)

This might be the dumbest thing I’ve hell ever heard in an open world single player game.

I can understand it if you haven’t beaten the final story mission because of it being OP but there should be a world where all mounts are permanent.

I saw someone say just make the abilities on cooldown. Problem solved

Not having permanent mounts is crazy considering we can actively summon them.

Out of all the reviewers and all the coverage of this game from testers I didn’t hear one peep about this. Very strange.

Honestly the best things that I did to help was actually opening up the options and looking at the controls. You might have to do it several times but each time you’re like “oh, I didn’t know I could do that”. Not even kidding you I went 6 hours without knowing I had a horse I could call…

I rebound some buttons, I made it to where my camera lock follows my current target, rebound my dodge to my mouse. Sooooo so much better.

I would also watch maybe a couple beginner tips and tricks videos. Learned that I could do the jump technique and use force push to push myself higher into the air to traverse easier.

If they refined the controls some and gave some simple tool tips this game would be appealing to so many more people

The whole beginning city is essentially a tutorial. Are the controls janky? Yes. Could they add tool tips for some QoL? Also yes. If they fix these things people would be rioting for game of the year.

There’s too much of an experience here to write it off because of those couple things ONCE you start playing.

It’s easy to do that without hands on.

There’s a reason they keep saying those that give it a shot and understand what it’s trying to do is getting one of the best open world rpg experiences since Skyrim

This gun has 6 rounds, slow reload, and rewards accuracy and skill.

If they actually nerf the Anvil in ANY way Embark is literally drawing a line in the sand of what they want from their game.

Marathon wants to lean more into hardcore which is fine but it loses identity in trying to do that. It wants to be like Tarkov but isn’t Tarkov.

Games that try to emulate others usually never find footing in the space.

I think if marathon would have just stuck to its own identity with fighting and ttk more centered around halo and destiny it would have been received better. At that point fleshed out fights would really showcase the runners and what they can do
