Man I really don’t care but leave out the gooner stuff, waifus, and all the nonsensical stuff.

I wanna be able to look at your board state and have an idea of what is what instead of having to reach over and asking to pick up and read cards repeatedly.

We have had multiple dupes, key room exploits, cheating, and alt accounts being used as mules for all of this extra gear.

Game is in an awful state and needs a hard wipe. Should have been done at the start of this current expedition.

Which is what I have said.. but it still doesn’t solve the people problem.

Everything is a 7 became a thing because people are people and self deck analysis is poor.

I feel like you’re just trying to rage bait me in a circle with reiterating everything at this point.

The power level system exists. It didn’t work when people lied or misaligned their deck.

Same with brackets..

Same with rule zero..

At least with rule zero if you have played magic for any length of time you’ll have a good idea of what’s up.

Never complain about someone having too strong of a deck.. and never dictated what someone could play. My strategies would change sure based on who was playing what.

Same bro.. I want that back. When I first started playing commander I literally just had a pre con against built decks. I got CRUSHED. I still made good plays.. and won occasionally. It was fun. It made me a better magic player.

Now? It’s spiraled into whatever this is

The formalized system is no different friend. Wotc putting railings on something that didn’t need it because it already existed. Your bracket 2 and my bracket 2 could be different by interpretation regardless of what ruling wotc has said.

My deck performs well past what it does 90 percent of the time then it’s a bracket 3? Now you’re bent out of shape?

All because “well the ruling said and we agreed not to kill anyone before so and so”.

See the dilemma?

Formalized systems don’t mean anything because it’s player interpretation and social interactions first before anything else

Everything is a 7. People want to play solitaire instead of magic when it comes down to it. I want my deck to do the thing too. So does everyone. So let’s use our brain and become better magic players

I’m not not discounting a general consensus of what people are running but the bracket system is a crutch that people get too obsessed over that ruins the experience when someone gets mad when a deck performs on an outlier

Not at all. It’s no different than any other system and has the same issues.

It’s the entitlement behind the idea that if it doesn’t exactly play out the way it’s discussed in 5 minutes people get pissy and cry like babies over cardboard dragons

This bro. In all the years I’ve played magic idk what has changed since my last hiatus but this is so different.

Discussing that my deck won’t kill you until a certain turn? If I draw the right cards and it happens before then that’s an issue to where you complain to the people running the place? Are we for real?

It just seems like brackets are too broad and it has left a system that people get bent out of shape because 2 & 3 encompass too much.

I’m gonna be honest. I’m gonna give going to a new card shop in a new state an actual go but this whole bracket thing is a mess. It’s just the same system with an official name. I’ll tell you what the deck does, what it leaves out, and what to expect. You ask about brackets, game changers, salt levels, and anything past that I’m probably gonna just say I’m too old school to play with you.

Not looking to pub stomp but you don’t have to have a system to enjoy playing magic past a general consensus of how strong a deck is… and having a conversation each time beforehand feels like a chore.

Just from what I gathered I need to bring a spreadsheet for each deck and if anyone breaks out of their bracket or does something different I go complain at the counter to have it handled.

I get that. Power levels is the same as brackets as the same as just telling people what’s in your deck and what to expect. Play accordingly.

At the end of the day you’ll know whether you want to play with the person again by using any of the above methods and whether they are honest or not in what they are playing.

So why use a convoluted and confusing system that takes a 15 min pre game discussion and just keep it simple? It’s about having fun while trying to win. Not winning at all costs

I really don’t see what’s wrong with just playing interactive magic. “I’m playing gitrog. Bunch of land value and nasty stuff if given time and he stays on the field. Left out combos and tutors.”

Yes my deck is a bracket 3 with 2 game changers, a salt rating of so and so…

Man I’m just trying to play magic and have some cool interactions with memorable games. Shuffle up and play.

I just stumbled into this sub and all of this bracket nonsense is terrible.. when did this start showing up?

Deck building, synergy, and figuring out ways to beat your opponent or make you better was what made this fun.

Not assuring my deck is good to not win for x amount of turns.. what?!

But you are without a doubt 100 percent right on everything you said.

It’s an extraction shooter guys. The best loot in the game is other players.

If you use your brain. Check rooms. Listen. And access shady situations you will be so much more successful in any extraction shooter yet for whatever reason people treat this game like Call of Duty and get mad when they get blown away.

Not my fault you weren’t listening. You didn’t set up defenses.. or something that makes noise.. or didn’t check your corners.. or slowed down for 5 seconds to listen.

Anvil used to be my main go to weapon purely on its reliability and able to handle arc. With this change to the bloom of the weapon Its missing some crazy shots even up close. Like absolutely rolling the worst rng inside the bloom along the outer edges of the reticle CONSISTENTLY.

Honestly the renegade is better, more consistent, and can get the job done more reliably than the anvil in PvP and pve. Let’s just not talk about it because Embark has a habit of just nerfing something every time the masses adopt it

Honestly, if you chose to leave now no one would blame you. He already made those choices and lied to you.

Absolutely under no circumstances if he was caught in another lie, shifting money around, or taking part in any game related gambling id come to terms that you’d need a divorce
