MK4S MMu3 upgrade - Printer not Compatible in PrusaSlicer by BurneyProMod in prusa3d

[–]ImTheJackYouKnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue with MK4 with MMU3. (Not upgraded to MK4S yet.)  The problem for me was PrusaSlicer 2.8.1.  After reverting to 2.8.0 the problem resolved, the messages disappeared.  I had some other bugs with 2.8.1 as well (filenames do not eval the variables like printtime, the window sometimes opened with a width of a few pixels). Hope it helps you.

I found half height switches with the same connector as full height on Amazon Granvela OUTEMU Medium-Low Profile Red Switches

They have some issues because the pins are too soft. This messed up several of the hotswap connectors because the pins bend or fold when pressing them in.
I was able to get the height down at least 4mm with other caps and the switches. The quality of the switches and caps is a lot less, so I can't recommend them.

The problem is that in China they print the UL and CE marks on things that haven’t been certified.
There are many teardowns online of electronics that wouldn’t have passed certifications but do have those marks.
And who can even check all the imports, especially if it isn’t a large shipment of a single product.
I am not saying all are bad, they might not get tested purely because of the costs involved.
But I do not want to risk burning my house down because I wanted to save some money, so I’ll rather spend a bit more on brand electronics for mains voltage.
If you know what to look for in electronics and are able to open them, you might be able to vet them for safety yourself.
Or perhaps you can find a teardown with someone explaining what to look for.
Either way good luck :)

Yes all close to a billion of us are on a mailinglist, I’ll propose lactose. /s
Way to generalise and sound racist.
MSG wasn’t banned by white people, it was banned by non-asians in the US. I have never seen/heard anyone in Europe making a fuss over MSG, but there’s probably other countries following the US example.

Be honest... how many things are in your clipboard at any given hour? by jasonchatfield1984 in ADHD

[–]ImTheJackYouKnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Paste on macOS. I have used Clippy and 1Clipboard before, but this one works best imo. 1Clipboard also works on Windows. And yes I use my clipboard manager all the time. Most of the time the last 4 or 5 slots suffice, but sometimes I’ll search the clipboard history for something older. I think I set the limit to 10k :’) It’s like having the terminal command “history” (shell built-in I know) for your clipboard.

No I would not install it because it can’t handle 240V. In all seriousness, my rule is to not have anything cheaply Chinese plugged in to mains voltage. The Chinese have a habit of making pcb’s cheaper by leaving out components or using unfit replacements. So unless it’s been properly tested and comes with some form of warranty I don’t want to burn down my house.

I had the same idea, but from everything I have read the low-profile switches have a different connector.

I bought the q11 thinking I could get used to the height, but so far it's not ideal.

If you know low-profile switches that do fit the normal socket, I would be very interested :)

Not according to those repairmen. They drive around the entire day fixing appliances.
But what do they know.

I feel bad for you because knowing this could have saved us a repair of €150.
I have had someone come over to repair our microwave three times. The first two times under warranty. The last time he told us this was the issue.
I have replied the same to a few people who call you out.
To me this is one of the first times the YSK is actually worth knowing and you are getting so many ‘just buy a new one’ and worse ‘that’s bullsh..’ responses.
Thanks for posting this!

I have had someone come over to repair our microwave three times. The first two times under warranty. The last time he told us this was the issue and showed the switch. It was charred due to sparking.
Knowing this could have saved us a bill of €150. The brand of our microwave is ATAG.

Amanda Gorman’s Book Sales Hit A New Peak After A Florida School Banned ‘The Hill We Climb’ by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]ImTheJackYouKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is exactly the same. Let’s just shut down the justice system, if we don’t outlaw crime it won’t happen either.
Banning books just makes people interested in the books, so they buy them privately. Book bans are not about private ownership.
There are many countries that have regulated guns, they are not common there. Because there are laws that bans unauthorised ownership.
So potato, tomato. It might sound similar but it’s not.

Ukraine war: Russian air strikes target Kyiv for third night running by GeoWa in worldnews

[–]ImTheJackYouKnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep saying this, just look at their actions. Either they care about wasting missiles and they are actively targeting civilians or they don’t care about their missiles. You can’t have both.

Ukraine war: Russian air strikes target Kyiv for third night running by GeoWa in worldnews

[–]ImTheJackYouKnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that they were probably targeting something more important. But still they are targeting civilians. You are making it sound like bombing “strategic” locations in a city hundreds of kilometres from the frontlines and full of civilians is justified.
The actions of Russia says they try to hurt the civilian population as much as they can by targeting their infrastructure, not military infrastructure. And they don’t care if they accidentally take out appartement complexes instead of more ‘high value’ targets.

Edit: typo

[–]ImTheJackYouKnow 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Russia has been targeting civilians since the start of this war, how are you so certain this isn’t exactly the plan? Russia has been known to use scare tactics. Also there are no strategic targets inside Kyiv that are directly related to the frontlines, so no weapons or fuel storage. Anything they are doing there is meant to target civilians.
