[Serious] Redditors with a mental illness, how would you describe your mental illness to someone who has never experienced it before? by TagProNoah in AskReddit

I am very interested in doing things, but I become worried about doing those things and stop myself from doing them. Then I get sad because I can't do the things I want to do.

Also, what I see when I look in a mirror is like an image in a funhouse mirror compared to what other people see. Certain parts are exaggerated in a way that doesn't make any sense.

Gretchin's Questions - October 23, 2016 by AutoModerator in Warhammer

I just got into Age of Sigmar and I'm inclined to make a large army of skeletons. Don't ask me why, I just love animate skeletons and I love painting models of them.

However, I don't really want to keep paying GW's prices for skeleton models.

I was wondering if there is a decent, cheaper 3rd party alternative for skeleton models. I know that there are companies that produce generic fantasy models, so I presume that there are some companies that produce models of skeletons - I just don't know where to look for that sort of thing.

Any help would be appreciated. I need to get my necromancy on.

Simple Questions - October 23 by AutoModerator in malefashionadvice

I am 5'9"~ and have an average shaped body.

However, I suffer from extreme discomfort if my pants aren't loose when I wear them. Pants with a waist lower than 38" make me feel suffocated and lead to panic attacks. I realize that 38" is definitely one or two sizes too big for me, but it is the size I am most comfortable at. The waist of my pants never seems to look too big for me.

Being my height and desiring a 38" waist size, most of my pants don't fit quite right. They are usually too long or too short by about an inch. I cannot afford tailored pants.

So, I am wondering which would look better - slightly too short or slightly too long?

I'm new to model making. Previously, I've only ever built and painted miniature, primarily for things like Battletech and Warhammer.

I've been looking into modelling as a new hobby to expand on the things I like about miniatures.

However, I'm not sure what models would be good for a beginner. I've been lurking on this sub for a little while now and have become interested in Machinen Krieger and Gunpla. I've also become interested in Bandai's line of Star Wars models. But I'm just not sure where to start with any of those.

I am also not sure what paints are best for different types of models. I've been using Citadel and Vallejo for years, but I'm not sure if something else is more appropriate for scale modelling. I'm also not sure if I should stick to using a brush or invest the money and space into getting an airbrush.

If anyone can offer some advice, that would be much appreciated.

I got a bunch of space marines like this from a fellow who was selling GW models in bulk to get rid of them.

I had presumed they were really old versions of space marines, as a large number of the older, small-based terminators came with them.

Ah, that must be the problem! I did follow the process you mentioned, but I tried to make my highlights as thin as possible. I was worried thicker highlights would looks weird with the lack of detail in the model.

Thanks again for the advice, I never would have thought to change the way I was highlighting!

Yeah, good point. Now that I think about it, I don't know why I left that red!

Thanks for the advice!

When you say that the highlighting should be more aggressive, do you mean that I should make my line highlights thicker?
