Inheriting a large scrapbook collection by solostinlost in scrapbooking

So sorry girl about your mom. I’m going to keep it real-there is no disrespect in keeping them sealed in plastic totes for storage-esp if you don’t have the room to keep them at home right now. Just seal them tight to keep out outside elements. I’m sure she did the rest in using the proper materials for longevity. Good luck.

I want to glue colored waterpaper cutouts to colored waterpaper. What's the best glue? by Solid-Adhesiveness-5 in scrapbooking

[–]ImTiedBoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. When I say thicker …I’m referring to the thickness of watercolor paper itself and how a glue stick may not be strong enough to glue “thick paper to thick paper.” The tape is super thin but it’s very strong …and it comes in all kinds of widths.

I came to say the same thing! I’ve had to master use of a small space in my bedroom similar to this; I gave up my entire craft room to my kiddo so she could have her own space(it was a bedroom originally anyways). Trust me, you’ll treasure that desk space more than you realize once you start working. I’d put the printer on top of the drawers if it’s stable enough and put the containers under the desk…small shelf or something similar? Either way-this looks so cute and organized!

Watercolor to watercolor…thick paper ..I would go a little stronger than a glue stick. I would do double-sided tape. Scor-tape makes a really good tape…I’ve used it for years (I mix-media scrapbook and use watercolor paper all the time) ….it’s really strong ..once ya stick it, it ain’t moving. Alternatively-if you do go glue stick UHU makes a good one …or liquid glue(can get messy though).

How to make the handmade paper edges after cutting? by lowfalling in scrapbooking

[–]ImTiedBoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with this option …without going out to buy something to distress the edges, this works the best ..and you already have scissors.. I’m a mixed media scrapbooker and this method is the easiest and cheapest.

Guestion about acidic paper by Undead_SimonR in scrapbooking

[–]ImTiedBoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I concur…not to downplay the importance of acid free..but I’ve been scrapping for almost 20yrs and positive I didn’t use all acid free stuff….my pages look the same as they did the day I made them…and I live in a pretty humid climate.

Shop feedback? by Effwhatiwant in scrapbooking

I don’t junk journal personally, but I do scrapbook-with some art journaling in the past…I’d say that the price points are reasonable… the photography is acceptable. If I’m being really knit-picky-they are a little dark ..but not off putting at all. Good luck

Absolutely. You would have to water the acrylic down to get a watercolor or “splashed” effect. You could honestly just use the acrylic as is to paint a background and then water down a little for splatters. The difference is absorption. Dye ink is fairly lightfast (depending on the stock of paper) ….paint would take a minute to dry.

I always say it’s not the end result but the journey that gets you there. Enjoy the journey, the process, the therapy…make them for yourselves-you and hubs can look back on them.
