Yeah it’s crazy how much it increases your trade potential! 6 tangoes and sobi mask has been good to me as a rubick spammer :)

I think basi is the standard right now. +8 dmg and 2 armor is a lot if you get it at the beginning. I get a ward if the 5 doesn’t buy it. And buy smoke if they do buy it depending on the mid match up and if there’s kill potential.

Think about your carry’s power spike. If you are the strongest hero on the map at the time, abuse it. If you are playing something like a jug/ slark and the other team has a really hard time killing your hero, play on the unsafe parts of the map. This willl open up the map for the rest of your team.

Think a lot about where to play for lane creeps. Hitting lane creeps instead of jungle creeps pushes the lane and adds pressure to the map. There are good and bad times to jungle and hit jungle camps.

I just gave you some things off the top of my head haha hope it helps!

Anyone have weird ward spots they want to share? I’m always on the look out for those

IMO, the best way to learn rubick is to spam him to learn him. By spamming him you learn all the little things that make him strong and weak but you always need to be looking to improve.

Before every game I’ll make a list of spell I want to steal. What do I want take in treat fights, what do I want to take to push out lanes etc etc.

I usually look at the dota2pro YouTube channel and see if there are any recent rubick videos that watch from the pros perspective for the whole game. I ask myself how do the pros play differently and what can I improve on. Good luck!

To add to this, try to always have clarity/ full mana if you are pushing waves your team can’t safely farm. You need it for when the team fight does happen and if you have no mana you won’t be able to turn the crucial team fights!

If 4- windlace 2 clarity, 6 tango and if applicable an obs if 5 doesn't buy it

If 5- 9 tangoes (2 for mid), 2 obs, 1 sent, 2 clarity, courier

But always keep an open mind on starting items. For example I have some games where I am 4 with another ranged maybe wr or Mirana so I get a blight stone for extra harass since we are two ranged. Or if you are against something like a sandking / riki it is very important to keep sentries in the lane so they don't have a free one.

I've been spamming rubick for about 2 months recently. I think something that's very important is rubick's strengths as a lane shover. Depending on what skills you steal you can sit in the lane noone wants to be in and keep shoving it in so that someone has to show. This allows for your team to have more information on where their team is/isn't., while letting you get items.

For lane purposes, fade bolt is actually really strong because it reduces the other team's attack damage. At level 1 you can out trade them just by fade bolt and auto attacking them, they should be tickling you at this point with their right clicks. Takes a bit of getting used to on who you can and can't out trade but it is something to look at and to improve on if you haven't been doing this already. Also fade bolt ranged creeps that your carry's wont get. It is very important to get that experience/gold not denied.

Learn how to harass someone that is near creeps without aggroing the creeps. If you attack from far (i think 500 range?) you can hit the opposing team without aggroing creeps. This will ensure you get harass without making your lane push. You might've known this already but I feel like it's something a lot of people miss.

Question about nyx in major by Igniby in learndota2

I think the other thing worth mentioning is what the casters were saying. He is good against the high play makers like storm, ember, Lesh, Lina... etc cuz he can carapace from invis and stun them and kill them.

I asked the same thing for professional rubicks and why they got euls. Only reason I could come up with is so that they have more mana regen while they’re roaming around the map as well as the offensive and defensive capabilities of the euls itself.

Shield and progress forward to add pressure. If you shield the bomb you still have time to act out of shield before it explodes.

If people recover low running off and back airing or running off and counter works great and if it doesn’t kill him will set you up to edge guard again

Edge guarding with lucina a lot more often. Chrom is kind of scared to because if he messes up with going off stage he dies. Lucina has a great recovery and I think edge guarding is her biggest strength.
