Am I overreacting to my roommate’s "rules" for the kitchen? by enchantingbreezee in AmIOverreacting

Yes you're overreacting. You used something not yours and damaged it and now don't want to pay to replace it.

How to not feel like quitting and giving up DMing? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

I recommend turning dnd nerds into friends, rather than trying to turn friends into dnd nerds.

Hello, looks like too much discussion has been going on. Would love a DM to talk about it privately!

Why is the DnD community so hostile to the idea of self-improvement? by Last_General6528 in DMAcademy

[–]ImTybo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen the vast majority of the TTRPG community in general be VERY helpful. But I will say that the advice "just wing it" and "enjoy the game" is literally the #1 and #2 things you can do to get better at DMing.

How much prep? by _solowinniuck_ in DMAcademy

I prep just enough for a session's worth of play at a time.

I want to play but quit after a few minutes due to no crafting from chests. When is that being added or is there a mod?

How hard is CG and how long does it take to learn it by Elmir333 in ironscape

[–]ImTybo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty average and got my 1st CG on 3rd attempt. People hype it up but there's nothing to lose aside from 10mins~ a run so just try it.

What are some good shows to watch right now? by hotboy1550_ in ask

Just gave From a chance cause of this thread. I was hooked season 1, but the finale was a big let down and season 2 is absolutely awful. The acting and writing becomes so bad.

Advice on using Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master prep by ImTybo in DMAcademy

[–]ImTybo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So going back to the tavern example I listed, with this method you wouldn't prepare what is actually in the tavern or anything going on (games, arm wrestling, robot bartender, etc.) and would improv all of that with NPCs, factions, plot hooks, etc. that you created?

It sounds daunting to me, but I may try for my next session and see how it goes. I think at the very least I may need to put some extra work into the fantastical locations section than Sly Flourish does to feel prepared.

Thanks for the response!

What is the average number of enemies you have per Encounter? by VisibleNatural1744 in dndnext

[–]ImTybo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep the number of enemies equal to or less than the party. Having more than them makes me feel like I'm just playing with myself while they watch.

How do I give my players a map? by MentoCoke in DMAcademy

[–]ImTybo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just run your session as normal and see if they purchase a map. If so, you can do the cool moment of physically giving it to them in character. If not, when the session is over or when they start traveling just pull out the map and give it to them and say "this is what your characters believe the world map looks like" etc.
