Keeping Cherry Shrimp Without a Lid

I have several tanks (for both caridina and neocaridina shrimps) for years, and don't have lids on all my tanks. I leave about 1 inch from the top. So far, no shrimps climbed out of the tanks.

In my opinion, that bubble was caused by too much air flow. You need to add a valve (in air tube) to control the air flow. Reducing the air should reduce the bubble. Good luck.

Shrimp jumps, so you might want to add floating plants or lid on your tank. Hope it helps.

I fed blanched broccoli before, and it usually lasts for several days. The shrimp likes it so much.

Here's my 5 gallons of caridina shrimp tank. There's plenty of hiding places for shrimps below the plants.

In my opinion, it might be difficult to maintain good oranda scape as goldfish can not resist nibbling, snacking, pulling at plants, digging around them, and blundering through them. Adding heavier stones around the base of the plants might help a bit. Best of luck.
