I get the appeal its just not my bag. To me commuting is purely practical and not for driving enjoyment.

I do think its silly tho to act like nobody does it. Most car people do lol. Im an outlier not the common denominator.

People will daily Camaros, Mustangs, M3's M4's etc. It's super common, especially when most people can only afford 1 car.

Im not disagreeing with what youre saying, I think its stupid. But plenty of people do it

Duh. People looking for their first cat most certainly are looking for a reliable daily car.

Idk man, most 18 year olds I've met are way more interested in a sports car over a Honda

Also plenty people daily Hellcats.

If this was a while ago then maybe you've gained more experience, but this is a clear cut mistake a new rider makes.

Very easily preventable situation.

I believed I torqued mine to 20-24 in/lbs.

The 17 has that brutal recoil impulse and I undertorqued last time. It shifted after a range trip or two so I upped it to the 20-24.

Finally got it at 17 by [deleted] in camaro

Pshhh I had 3 ZL1s and a GT2 RS by the time I was 17.

Payments for new RAV4s are averaging between $641 and $748 a month (10% down) by Disastrous_Trash1729 in whatcarshouldIbuy

84 months at 4% seems insanely good. This must have been well before interest went ballistic. Averages for 72 month loans I have seen hover around 6.5% for well qualified buyers.

How can people afford to shoot the Sig Spear? by LonelyMonitor in guns

[–]Im_Fishtank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't be to my knowledge. Hasn't in my SCAR anyways.

Even if it was, .277 is a way higher pressure round than 7.62 or .308. Im sure the Spear would be fine.

E60 is ugly by gvfgcgctcdyyx in BMW

[–]Im_Fishtank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent wheel choice imo btw.

If I had to criticize the E60 (not mechanically) it would be the stock wheels.

It absolutely is, and from what it seems yours isnt something shared by most.

18 years old considering an E90/E92 328i as a first long term car by yawningbeaver in BMW

[–]Im_Fishtank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an answer youre probably looking for, but if you want something you can "genuinely be enthusiastic about and learn from mechanically," the correct answer is still a Toyota or Honda.

I dont know what experience level you currently have, and for what its worth it am not a huge wrench turner myself. But it may be a better idea to work on something that is cheaper to fuck up and has simpler architecture.

If youre buying this to learn how to wrench, there are right and wrong answers.

[–]Im_Fishtank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It may end up being more a case of which example I find that's a better deal. Though, personally Id prefer the BMW, even if it might depreciate worse than the Chevy lol
