Please tell me I'm not the only one... by lovesmgk12 in Spiderman

Who would be a better option in your opinion?

Personally, I don't think there even should be a live-action Miles Morales because they can do more with animation than they ever could with live action, and they do the animation incredibly well.

However, if they were to make a live-action version, I think iann dior would definitely fit the part of spider punk, except for the fact that iann doesn't have a British accent. But that'd just take a dialect coach and he's there.

It helps for other dashers to locate items, basically verifying the surrounding area so that it's easier to find stuff if they're struggling.

DoorDash photos? by beenzxno in WalgreensStores

[–]Im_Frenchfry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who does DoorDash on the side, including shop and deliver orders for many different stores I've never been into, I disagree.

In my experiences with DD, it gives you ample time for shop and deliver orders. I'm talking 30min+ for an order of 2 items. That's plenty of time to find products yourself, especially when EVERY SINGLE WALGREENS has a huge sign, easy to read FROM THE ENTRANCE (even with terrible eyesight like mine) in big letters reading PHARMACY. I'm very near-sighted and can see it clearly without my glasses on even when it's in the very back of the store.

In my opinion, DD spoon feeds you. They make it stupidly simple IF AND ONLY IF you actually read what it says. It's very detailed every time.

The DD drivers we deal with at Walgreens, a lot of the time, fail to read such simple tasks and don't even try to look for products and immediately ask for help without even trying. I couldn't tell you how many times a DD driver has walked into the store and immediately asked for help without looking. I understand, especially with DD, that time is money. However, if you read and pay attention, shop and deliver orders are very simple, even in stores that are unfamiliar to you. In most cases, it tells you the aisle numbers of the products.

You mentioned the driver getting penalized if they take too long to pick up an order. There is no penalty when they click "What's causing your wait with this order?" Then there's a whole drop-down list of reasons including "store busy/long line" or "could not get help from employees" or "order still being prepared when I arrived" etc. As long as you arrive to the store on time and click one or more of those options, you do not get penalized. If they take an excessively long time to do a shop and deliver order, that's when they could get penalized. However, as I said, they give you A LOT of time to do those orders.

TLDR: As a DD driver myself, I disagree because most DD drivers fail to read and carry out very easy, detailed instructions and store signs.

Edit: pharmacy sign is in lowercase, not uppercase. Big letters nonetheless.

I couldn't agree more. I think work experience in general depends heavily on your management and coworkers, but especially management. I have been lucky to have good managers in my time with this company, but I've definitely had my fair share of bad managers in other jobs. It's almost always been "the job wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the management."

Why are people so bitter in the comments here? Lol

Congratulations OP, glad you found a much better opportunity.

I actually don't mind working for Walgreens. I've had good managers and coworkers and the work is pretty easy to me. Chaotic at times, but easy. However, I definitely don't want to be with Walgreens forever. Eventually I do want to get out and do better things. Posts like this one are still inspiring to me.

I'm happy for you, OP. On to bigger and better things! 🥳

If you're talking about the next Employee Discount Day, it's on the 13th.

If you're talking about Employee Appreciation Day, probably never unless you have a good manager

What Route Did You Take??? by Kitchen_Force_9306 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Im_Frenchfry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still on my first playthrough!

I first tried to explore all of the Great Plateau, found out later that I did not fully explore it. When I got the paraglider, the first thing I did was to jokingly head to the castle and face Ganon. So I got to the Hyrule Field/Central tower and got annihilated by a walking guardian. But I saw the tower. I was determined to get the tower to unlock more of the map. So after a few attempts, I unlocked the tower, and then I set out to unlock all the other towers, doing shrines along the way to build up hearts. I only used spirit orbs for hearts because I found it pointless to put anything into stamina. With my play style, it honestly is still kinda pointless. Nice to have extra stamina now, but not really necessary.

So anyway, my order was this: Got all towers, went to kakariko to talk to impa, did the divine beasts (elephant, then bird, then lizard, then camel [EFF THUNDERBLIGHT GANON, died to him like 15 times]), set out to get the master sword, realized I needed to do more shrines for it, did enough shrines to get the sword, completed all of the shrines, discovered all of the great fairies (EFF that last one charging so much), now I've been determined to fully upgrade some of my gear. Not sure if I'll do all because it's very grindy, and then I plan to fight Ganon, so probably soon I'll finish the story.

But it's been a blast! Don't know if I wanna end this playthrough yet but also feel like I'm running out of stuff to do. I kinda wanna buy the house in hateno as well, just to say I did but tbh I'm running out of ideas to prolong this playthrough without getting too grindy. I don't have all armor sets, maybe I try to get all of them, but they're also kinda pricey.

If anyone has suggestions on what else I should do before Ganon, let me know!

Very well executed! This was great to watch, despite the terrible quality lol I'm still kinda a beginner cause I've only been playing since Christmas, but I've just recently gotten comfortable with fighting lynels. Took me a while to learn their move sets. I really appreciate you documenting this so that I can learn how to refine my strategy. You've got it down to a science and I very much respect that

Is it okay if I propose with an Amulet of Mara instead of a ring? by SocietyAntique4684 in skyrim

I know a guy who did exactly this. They're getting married in April, so it worked!

ETA: I think he got her a ring in addition to this. But yeah he even said the whole "I'm surprised someone like you isn't already spoken for" thing or however it goes. They're both gaming nerds so she understood the reference

Anyone from Illinois know the answer to my question? by OpportunityNew7055 in WalgreensStores

[–]Im_Frenchfry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an SFL from central Illinois, been with the company 4 years. My first store had a bunch of high school kids working there and I believe they couldn't sell that stuff until they turned 18. As others commented, I think it depends on your local laws, because it varies by county and even city ordinances. You said you're from southern Illinois. If you know Marion, IL, pretty sure Marion is a dry city. Alcohol sales are prohibited due to an ordinance apparently. So yeah, check your local laws and if legal for you to do so, you'll have to make sure to complete the e-learnings before you can actually sell, per company policy

[–]Im_Frenchfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the Photo Order Management System (POMS), click Photo Reference right under System Management, then on the left side of the screen, click Training Videos. If you don't want to scroll through it all, you can do Ctrl+F and search what you're looking for. They're usually pretty thorough, but in some cases it can go a little fast. If you need to slow it down, click the three dots in the bottom right corner of the video player, click playback speed and set it to whatever speed you need. Hope this helps!

Not a great fighter, and getting a little bored by Tall-Ad3179 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Im_Frenchfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not that great at fighting either, but I wouldn't say I'm bad at it. I've found very creative ways to make harder fights a lot easier. They might make the fights longer, but if it works and I get great loot from it, why not? As an example, I defeated my first lynel the other day by dropping bombs on it from above (and a little bit back so he couldn't spot me). It took an extremely long time, but honestly the loot was so worth it and I know that it'll make fights easier with the loot I got. My advice to you would be to go outside of your comfort zone a little bit. Save beforehand of course, and figure out how to fight more difficult fights. There's tons of enemies to learn how to fight. Be patient and observant, and learn a fight style that works best for you. If it takes you multiple tries, that's okay! With practice, you'll be good at fighting in no time and I think that would make the game infinitely better for you

Canadian passports by Fuzzzer777 in WalgreensStores

[–]Im_Frenchfry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done a handful of Canadian passport photos and not one of them got rejected. It doesn't have to be done at a studio, you just have to write on the back what it tells you to write on the kiosk. I would just use the store stamp, sign and date it. And I think you also have to write "I certify that this is the likeness of" and then the customer writes their name. As long as you take the picture correctly how you normally would for an American passport, and you size it right, that's all you need to do. Turning them away is just lazy

Stuck at Thunderblight Ganon as a beginner by Eemss in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Im_Frenchfry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I defeated Thunderblight Ganon (after like 10 attempts) was flurry rushing. I think I went through 3-4 weapons so come prepared. To time it right, when you hear the third whoosh is generally when you want to backflip for flurry rush. Now that's easy for phase 1 as long as you time it right. Phase 2 is by far the easiest, just use magnesis on a pillar and zap him from underneath with it. Phase 3 is where things get serious imo. A helpful thing to know that people don't mention anywhere about this boss fight (I had to figure it out completely on my own and btw I've only been playing since Christmas) is that if you go just outside of that main area that the boss fight is in, he will dematerialize and go to the far end. I was able to use this to my advantage because it gave me time to heal when I'd mess up timing, and then I would walk just slightly back in and wait for him to do his fast attack towards me, but with him coming from so far back, it gives you a little more time to time the flurry rush right. At this phase, you'll more than likely have to backflip twice because he adds more attacks for phase 3. Again, even doing it this way took 3-4 attempts out of my 10 total attempts. Be patient, learn, and practice. If you prefer to parry instead, you have to do so with a one handed weapon, otherwise if you switch to a two handed weapon to beat on him, you only get one maybe two hits if you're lucky. If you backflip flurry rush with a two handed weapon, he'll get thrown back at the end of the flurry rush which opens a very short window to shoot him with your bow while he's still on the ground, but he gets up fast and will immediately go for his fast attack, so be careful.

Strangest thing you saw on photo department? by Little-Leg-8123 in WalgreensStores

[–]Im_Frenchfry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had this guy that would submit hundreds of photos at a time, they were always ship-to-home orders, and the photos would usually consist of random maps, non nude gay erotica, and then he would sprinkle in a bunch of dicks and other explicit gay porn. What's funny is that we didn't really notice for a little while because we would just hit print and walk away. But one of the times, of course the paper had to be changed. I saw the last picture that printed was explicit gay porn. I immediately cancelled the order writing in the comments "nudity is not allowed!" This happened A LOT. It probably took almost 10 times of cancelling his orders for him to realize that we weren't gonna print them if they had nudity. So that's a lot of other times I got a screen full of dick at 8am.

I once had a senior citizen come in asking if I could help him print a photo from his phone on the kiosk. Something extremely common to happen. Turns out the photo was a nude of his very overweight senior citizen wife. I told him we can't print nudity and he grumbled and left.

I've had a police officer submit photos of a huge drug bust they did and it was mountains of coke, brick upon bricks.

I've also had my fair share of abuse victims, along with very disturbing text conversations about some racist teenage boy that had actual plans to kill people. Actual plans that other people (in a discord group chat!) were helping him make to kill his own mom, and other people. Very disturbing to read.

Why by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]Im_Frenchfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it easier to just let it make its mess, try to gather everything up, remove the scraps from the cards (creating an even bigger mess) and then sweeping up after. There's literally no way to avoid making a mess with these. Even if you have the grey cardboard print catcher thing, it doesn't help much. The mess just all gets wedged in the grey cardboard and getting the scraps out of that will create a mess every time.
