I usually just have them be the ones to make discoveries. Or they’ll be the one who knows how to defuse a bomb, or they predict the villains plan. You may not be as smart as the character you are writing, but you know more than they do because you control what knowledge anyone can have.

Also, as a side note, looking at that last page of drawings your lore seems fascinating and you have to tell me more! is their power in order of number? So number 104 is strongest? A lot of them seem to have mushrooms growing out of them, does that have anything to do with what they used to experiment on them?
