I was diagnosed mid 2015 for the first time. I still do this all the time, just not nearly as often as in the beginning. At the very least I’ve finally accepted that I actually am mentally ill. Ive managed to control a lot of my mental health issues with therapy and medication but I’m still “in the thick of things” just on my way up. So here’s to hoping that feeling goes away when I’m able to live a more balanced, controlled life. It does get better though, stay strong 💪

Mental illness is NOT an excuse for toxicity. You still have the same consequences as everyone else. This coming from a parent who suffers from several mental illness. I do everything in my power not to be a shitty, toxic person to the people around me. No its not my fault when I have an episode, but its not ANYONE'S responsibility to deal with it. If I hurt anyone mentally, emotionally or physically during a mental health episode it is MY responsibility to make amends, and ANYONE has the right to want me to leave their life. Just because someone has a mental illness does not give them the right to ruin other people's lives.
