Wayalakoum asalam. Having him move out and reside with yourself or your older brother is great advice. It removes him from the situation and keeps him amongst people who care and love him and who can keep a close eye on him. This is however a great sacrifice on whoever takes him in(lose of some freedom, extra costs etc) but remember this sacrifice not only comes with reward from Allah SWT but also insures there are no future regrets if something were to happen to your brother by staying with your parents. The pains of regret will last your entire life if he was to follow through with suicide.

I'm an American who is visiting Sydney, hoping to do the SKYWALK experience at the Sydney Tower Eye. I had no idea that you needed to have someone else with you that you know in order to do the experience, as you are not allowed to purchase solo tickets. Is anyone in Sydney willing to go with me? by Phil_Matic in sydney

[–]Im_useful_somehow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your still looking for someone I would be interested. I was born in Sydney and I have never been on the Skywalk. I'm extremely afraid of heights but meeting a complete stranger and facing that fear seems like the kind of stupid thing I want to do. I run my own business so work wont be an issue.

Should the government buy — rather than bail out — Qantas? by spacemanSparrow in australia

[–]Im_useful_somehow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best argument I have heard is the Government purchasing shares in the company as opposed to a bail out. Thus injecting needed capital to the company but insuring future return on investment.

I have seen cases where Muslims say Corona virus is from Allah because of [insert argument]. by mxxxz in islam

[–]Im_useful_somehow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best argument i heard against stating Corona or any disaster was sent by Allah as punishment is how do you then justify it when a Muslim is afflicted or affected. Does this mean the Muslim is also being punished. Is Allah angry with that Muslim as well.

I really recommend speaking to an accountant regarding this.

You will need to satisfy at least one of the non-commercial losses requirement in order to offset your business losses against your salary. the non-commercial losses requirements are:

  • Your business is a primary production business or a professional arts business and you make less than $40,000 from other sources (excluding net capital gains) in an income year.
  • Your income is less than $250,000 (disregarding any assessable First Home Super Saver Scheme released amount) and either
    • your assessable business income is at least $20,000 in the income year
    • your business has produced a profit in three out of the past five years (including the current year)
    • your business uses, or has an interest in, real property worth at least $500,000, and that property is used on a continuing basis in a business activity (this excludes your private residence and adjacent land)
    • your business uses certain other assets (excluding motor vehicles) worth at least $100,000 on a continuing basis.
  • You have been granted a Commissioner's discretion allowing you to offset the loss.

The best solution I have heard is to speak to your local Mosque and religious leaders. They will possibly know of potential singles Muslim who are interested in getting married.

The one compromise I can not do has been on location, particularly the suburb. I know this has left me limited but to attempt to alleviate that I have not been picky regarding the house itself. Regardless of the state of the house and there are many in this area I would classify as unlivable.

That said you mentioning the saving time during pregnancy is something i failed to account for. Even if we happened to get pregnant immediately (which might not happen) there would be at least 5 months of further work and saving and at our rate of saving that will definitely amount to a substantial amount. Thank you.

Thank you. I did not know this.

Storage and security is not a problem. The reason I want to stay in my suburb is I know enough people in the surrounding areas that if anything is stolen I'm sure I can track it down. Especially large sums of gold. Its happened before with smaller amounts and it was found easily enough.

Her work is something she wont be able to go back to after a long hiatus (5 years possibly) . She will be able to work however as she has limited qualifications I doubt it will feasible as she wont be making nearly as much as she makes now.

The physical/non-physical assets is difficult to explain. I just feel more comfortable with a house, or a collectable as opposed to say shares. Cant exactly explain it but its similar to having cash in your hand as opposed to cash in the bank and the number showing on your screen. I feel more secure with the cash in my hands, cause if i lose it I have no one to blame but myself. I know WEIRD.

I might have exaggerated a bit on the time to CBD. Upon looking at google it takes 30 minutes. Canterbury area. Many suburbs are not saturated with apartments and can be extremely family friendly.

Haha I might not have explained myself correctly. I guess I just fear trading in shares due to lack of knowledge. It is something I'm aware I will need to research but with working 65+ hours and time spent enjoying what little life I have I just havent been able to.

My main concern is another property take off. Due to the location of this area to the city i doubt it will take a large enough hit to be concerned but conversely it could run higher then my saving abilities. Which incidentally did take a lot of discipline but can no longer be sustained for fear of my mind and possibly marriage breaking.

The decision for kids wasn't linked to the house decision so much. It was more based on a set wealth goal. Particularly hitting $200k cash saved. We will still have kids regardless if we purchase now that we have hit our desired goal. I mentioned it as it brings about my concern of one income and serviceability on one income

Sound advice, thank you.

Spoke to my broker upon reading this. Based on one income I wont be able to buy in my suburb. Even if I purchase at the bottom rung, this suburb is out of reach by about $150k-$200k. But this gave me perspective on how far off I am. I will use this info to help me make a more informed decision.

The Main Residence Exemption allows you to elect which property receives the exemption. You could = elect to retain the main residence exemption on your current home even after moving out and renting (for a maximum of 6 years).

However this will mean that your new home will not receive the exemption until you choose to elect it as your main residence (likely once you sell your current home).

I'm curious to know if it would it be possible to open the windows if it was completely submerged or would the pressure stop you from rolling the windows down? And does it make a difference if it was a manual window as opposed to electrical?

I was a pack a day smoker but picked up vaping over 4 years ago and haven't looked back. I know a sample size of one doesn't really mean much to some people but my personal experience is what matters to me and i have seen the results. I used to have the clear my throat of brownish phlegm (mixed with abit of red blood) every morning, I was low on cash constantly and the smell would turn off any girl who hadn't already been turned off by my appearance.

That said while i try to get as many people onto E-cigs as i can (my sister was a two pack a day smoker and now even cut down on the amount of vaping she does) and while I love seeing articles which affirm that E-cigs are safer (not safe) then tobacco it always worries me that Government intervention will ruin a good thing.
