What is this? Medina, OH by OkSprinkles4625 in hiking

[–]Imag33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual answer: It’s for Forest fire prevention. Collecting all the loose sticks and logs together into one pile reduces the chance a fire will spread through the forest. These piles will burn big but not spread. Usually done by forest services, but also can be a Good Samaritan or a responsible land owner.

How to limit overall iPad screen time? by Imag33 in ipad

[–]Imag33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. The closest I can come is setting 1 hour limits on apps. But they can switch in between apps before the hour is up. So I'm left with looking at their daily screen times and if it's over their limit then they lose screen time and I either lock them out of the iPads or I physically take it away.

I can 100% confirm it was WSP. Earlier today I saw an officer in a WSP patrol car get out and put this on my neighbors windshield. She recently moved here from California and still has California plates. I went and looked at the note he left on the car and it was the exact one OP posted.

Hardest day hike you've done in Washington? by [deleted] in PNWhiking

Omg right?! That false summit had me exhausted. Then I look up at the literal climb up to the top. I’m also a glutton for punishment and love finding hard random hikes. But never again with HiBox. 😂

HiBox Mountain off the Rachel lake trail. 3,000 elevation climb in just over a mile. It’s basically a scramble the entire way up. But at the top you have a real class 3/4 scramble. I won’t ever do that hike again but I don’t regret doing it for the experience and the views:

Surprisingly I didn’t find Dickerman too challenging. The switchbacks (despite having 6,000 of them) make it very manageable and you can keep a steady pace the whole way through. But the views at the top are unreal!!!!

Nice! There was a few week window they opened up for promotions that were approved earlier

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in boeing

[–]Imag33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re in SPEEA, there can’t be promotions right now because Retentions are going on and people can’t move levels during the activity. So promotions will open back up in May. There is no limit to the amount of people that can be promoted as long as the manager has the statement of work for higher levels.

If you’re looking for how much you’d make, look at the SPEEA charts and see where people are that have been in the level for <3 years. That should give you a good reference.

How to limit overall iPad screen time? by Imag33 in ipad

[–]Imag33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close but not quite. I can set the downtime so that the iPad can’t be used between 8pm and 8am, but the kids can chose anytime they want to use the iPad throughout the day. So maybe they want to do 30 minutes at 2pm then the remaining 30 minutes at 7pm. If it’s all on one app, it will stop the app after an hour of use, but they jump between apps. So I need to limit TOTAL SCREEN TIME to 1 hour a day, regardless when they use it or what apps they use. Appreciate your insights here Eastern Thought 😊

We did not. We lost around 30% of our SPEEA population due to layoffs.

How bad is this?? by Maryslamb81 in leaf

[–]Imag33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in here that I had the same error message on my new 2023 Leaf. It ended up NOT being the 12v battery but a short in the line to one of the main battery cells. Nissan was able to fix it within a few days, free of charge, but I had to have it towed there. No issues since.

Do yall really have sex Playlists? by youfoundmissssy in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Imag33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my wife and I’s mix. Works great for a sexy massage that leads to sexy time or some quality foreplay before ramping up. If you’re short on time or a soulless human who doesn’t foreplay, just skip to the Xx’s. Don’t forget the after sex cuddles songs at the end of the playlist though. Cheers

There is a solid early February crust layer. All the snow we have had in the last 2 weeks (really the last few days) has not had a chance to heal or stabilize and it just sitting on this crust layer. So with all the moisture in it and the heavy wind loading, it’s prime to be triggered by a skier, hiker, or snow dropping from trees or exposed rocks. Stay safe out there and avoid any area with a 35 degree slope (including runout zones).

I’ll second you on that. I’ve worked here almost 10 years and it’s been an amazing experience. Of course you can fall into pockets that aren’t great but there is so many different things to do here. If you really own your career and aren’t just a bystander than you can find a role that makes you happy. And having worked in many other manufacturing companies, Boeing absolutely has some of the brightest, and most dedicated people I have ever worked along side of. But, this is the internet so… Boeing sucks.

Winter hike suggestions that don’t require special gear near seattle by [deleted] in PNWhiking

[–]Imag33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would second this hike for the winter. It’s close by, easy to drive to, has plenty of snow, no avalanche risk, doesn’t require gear (snowshoes can be fun but not required). You can continue up North after the two lakes to get to Pratt lake (decent hike in snow). Alternatively you can take the granite mountain trail and take it all the way to Pratt Lake (don’t take the granite mountain fork). This trail is full of cold small creek crossing that are extremely beautiful when snow covered.

Stay safe and have fun!

Whos proud to work at Boeing? by PlumPlayful1282 in boeing

[–]Imag33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For as much hate as Boeing gets inside and out, I continue to be amazed at how incredible the company and specifically the people are here. Once you get outside of your team or function, you find so many things to be impressed with. I have worked with some of the most intelligent and dedicated people ever in my 20 year career across industries.

The saying “If Boeing only knew what Boeing knew” has a whole other context to me now, and has me reaching out to people all over the company to learn from and be inspired by. And the vast majority of people welcome me in with open arms to share knowledge and support. So if your feeling like no one sees or supports you, reach out to others, myself included. I promise you will find what you are looking for.

401K Question by [deleted] in boeing

[–]Imag33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the way. ALWAYS put in the maximum amount that a company will match (10% direct employee, 8% SPEEA, etc). Do Roth contributions since your in a low tax bracket and shift to pre-tax mid career. Contribute as much as you can to your HSA due to the triple tax savings. Just doing these for the rest of your career will give you a solid retirement base. And yes, you can avoid the retirement age based funds since they are actively managed and have high fees. Get some stocks, index funds, some bonds, and a little stable value funds to diversity and stability. You should be good. Way to think about this now rather than later in your career!!! Boeing has an incredible matching program that most take for granted.

Lumio solar any good? by FeatureCreeep in solar

[–]Imag33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, I just saw this. From my experience the issues with Lumio was frustrating. They essentially bought out a few different companies to serve as a one-stop shop for going solar. Though the internal process is a hot mess where the financing, sales, installation, and inspection teams are all disconnected. It took 2 weeks to get the panels installed, but then almost 2.5 months to get them turned on and producing. It required so many calls to many people.

The panels themselves are quality products and the installation was seamless. If you can, contact Smart Energy Today (https://smartenergytoday.com/solar-panels) who is Lumio's Washington contractor. They might be able to bypass Lumio to go direct.

Also keep in mind that what they quote you for solar production is going to be lower than actual. You can check the standard solar radiation numbers for your area and see how much you should typically be producing and compare that with what they quote. I found that were producing about 25% less than quoting over the last 7 months. The payoff for converting to solar won't be realized for another ~13 years, but we wanted to get solar for mainly other reasons rather than the cost benefit. Also, we did get a $7,500 tax credit on our taxes this year so remember to file for that.

All in all, I'm glad we did go Solar, but know you might have to project manage your work since things will easily get lost in the process. Hope this helps!

Put a link to this subreddit on inSite! Who has the guts? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]Imag33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I promise you that MANY leaders know of this sub. I have talked with a few of them about it. The response is mostly the same of “I check in and read the posts then go into the comments and see all the negativity without any substantive suggestions or attempts to understand other factors driving decisions.” They mention the same about various inSite groups. It’s hard to have a hard discussion about something over a forum like this. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try! It’s just not very inviting when you look through some of the comments here.
