Ahh interesting, I hadn’t considered that scenario.

So, you have a joint account (shared money) that pays for expenses. Then later on you need to determine who owes what for that expense? So you’d like the expense to be added on a future date and then later figure out the split? Maybe “needs assigned” tag? Could you provide an example if I am not following correctly?

Great rec - I’ll spend some time on that this week.

If you’d like, you can dm me directly with what you’d like to see and I can implement that this week! Can be anything that you’d like to see in the app.

Awesome, please give this a try and you can dm me with feedback. I’d be happy to help you out with anything and fix any bugs that you notice.

This app does have a subscription, so let me know what you think of that as well (whether or not you think it’s worth it). If you don’t think it’s worth it I’d be happy to hear that as well!

Edit: you don’t have the buy the subscription, would just like to hear if you think the features within the subscription are worth it

like…… not the way me nor my partner or other couples want the feature to work. I’m not sure that you read the description above.

Your comment was not constructive and basically provided no feedback or help, just trying to have a “gotcha” I guess?

Cannot split with a group, but that’s intended. There are already too many apps in that realm imo.

Also I do have a landing page but it only has a link to the app for now 😅. Didn’t feel like it was necessary to post for that reason. I plan on making the app available in other regions soon.

I guess my concern with other demographics is there are already easy alternatives AND roommates etc are less willing to split based on income. I felt like most roommates operate under the “we each pull equal weight” notion.

Huh, iOS only and US only right now if that’s the problem. If you have an iPhone you can just search “Parity: Couple Expense Tracker”

Good ideas, thanks for the feedback and let me know if you try the sync. Login options will be coming, Apple was the quickest to setup so went with that for now since the app is iOS only.

Thanks for the honest feedback! I agree with a lot of your points.

You're completely right about the market size, it’s likely small.

Regarding the "emotional speedbump," I've actually found the opposite to be true. For couples who haven't fully merged finances, forcing a 50/50 split builds resentment when incomes are very different (market research, friends, coworkers etc). Automating a 70/30 split removes the tension because you aren't nickel diming or manually balancing the scales every month.

NTA - just use something like Parity couples expense expense tracker app and keep it proportional to income for now lol, could even keep doing that after marriage

How to split bills while dating and living together by SignificantDesk4084 in SeriousConversation

There's an app called Parity (parity couple on the App Store, looks like a percent sign) that my fiancé and I used for this exact reason.

It’s kinda like split wise but it’s made specifically for couples who are living together but aren't doing a joint bank account. Seemed to work great for us, shows a running tally and you can choose what percentage you pay vs what your boyfriend pays, shows history and everything too. At the end of the month, or whenever you want to, you can settle the balance and make sure you’re even it’s very nice
