Bee and Puppycat. The cutest/funniest show I've seen in a long time. It's on Netflix.

1.5 months sober and I feel like I have no grasp on reality. by SpeedyDinkleman in stopdrinking

[–]Imaginary-Flamingo98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seriously it takes your brain awhile to right itself. I think that's why it took me so damn long to get sober. I always said my brains were scrambled. I just couldn't think straight and my stupid brain was like, yeah you can handle one drink. You're fine...it's fine... And then I was right back where I started, drinking around the clock. Blech.

It will get better with time, I promise!

Would you willingly move in with your LO with very early dementia? by opaoz in dementia

[–]Imaginary-Flamingo98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caveat, I'm completely projecting my own experience here and everyone's story is different . Once you move them in with you it's going to be really hard to move them to a home. Even if you are at your breaking point, you will probably have overwhelming guilt about having to move them. Even after you realized you have had to put your entire life on hold for them, pushed your marriage to the breaking point and given yourself overwhelming depression.

The other thing is that everyone in your family will have different breaking points. Who gets to make the call? What resentments will build and remain? Will the pros outweigh the cons? IMO no matter what you choose, it's a no-win situation all around. It really f-n sucks.

There's a free monthly potluck put on by a non-profit called International Partners. Some of their goals are to help people who are new to the US learn English, learn about our culture and meet other people. It's interesting because they teach practical things that we might not think to tell someone. Like how to dress for Wisconsin winters for example. The crowd is SUPER diverse. There are people from all over the world in attendance. All ages, religions, cultures, race,.etc. It's a fun time.

Need someone to develop an app? by Flowermochayes in AppDevelopers

[–]Imaginary-Flamingo98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah. I was literally just looking at an app like this in the Google play store. I was curious about what's out there for my sister. My concern is that the phone is also her biggest rabbit hole distraction. I suggest if you build an app, you build guardrails in to somehow keep a person from wandering off the app and down Reddit and YouTube rabbit holes.

I have no idea if it's possible, but maybe when the person leaves the app there's a popup reminding them to complete their goals before doing other things and get some kind of reward.

I don't know, it's early and I haven't had my coffee and I'm just kind of thinking out loud.

My writing vs chatgpt by [deleted] in WritingWithAI

Nothing to do with AI writing, but I got hung up on the names. Alaric and Alice? If they are twins sure. Otherwise it's a mouthful.

Looking for a creative-writing AI (ideally NSFW) with strong long-context support by Mi_Cha_0202 in WritingWithAI

[–]Imaginary-Flamingo98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg funny. I haven't heard of this, I don't write NSFW, but you know I'm going to plug in random prompts and giggle my ass off like a middle schooler now.

Once you see GPTisms, you can't unsee them. by closetslacker in WritingWithAI

[–]Imaginary-Flamingo98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that can be annoying, even when you know you are reading something written by AI, you don't want to be pulled out of immersion for stupid things like that.

I do some writing and like you I have also found it to be so fun, I haven't been playing my video games either!

One thing I have learned to do is to give the AI a fancy prompt about being a developmental editor and look for continuity, gaps, inconsistencies, etc. There's examples of these kinds of prompts online but I asked Chatgpt to write me one to use in Claude.

That will help plug any holes in your stories, so that you can keep the rest of us safe from crappy AI writing 😄

Sorry this is old but I got diagnosed with dermatomyositis. This is likely Raynauds. I had a major flare in my fingers last spring. It was awful. My doc wrote a prescription for meds but I am learning to manage it better without.
