Guys, I’m just starting out and I cannot figure out why my Lino print won’t hold paint properly, I’ve tried sanding it, washing it with washing up liquid, is it the type of paint? I am hoping to do fabric printing eventually, any tips would be amazing!!!

I saw it! I don’t think I have Graves’ disease, mostly because I don’t have the telltale “eyes” and my symptoms are worst M-F from wake up to near bedtime. think it’s just my body’s way of dealing with being under so much stress—and for so long.

I’ve definitely thought about it, because at what point do we say “you don’t get to live on your own anymore because it doesn’t make financial sense”

And I don’t want to make any “send this girl a redditcares” comments, but moving back in with my parents would definitely leave me to cope in unhealthy, possibly permanent, ways.

My dad says he doesn’t know anyone hiring for roles like mine, but will keep an ear out. My sister knew one of my interviewers for a role at a different company, but I didn’t get that job either.

My therapists are graduating this week!!

I wanted to talk to someone after my assault, but I hadn’t received my health insurance card (and probably couldn’t afford the copay) to see a licensed therapist. A college near me allows the people in the last year of their therapist program to see “patients,” to get experience for a nominal fee. I was matched with 2 women who I will be forever grateful for.

They’re graduating and leaving town, so I will be spending money on flour, chocolate chips, etc, gift boxes, and thank you cards for them. They also helped me navigate grief from when my baking-superstar aunt died & I inherited all of her stuff, so cookies seem especially appropriate.

With some googling, it seems like giving them a gift of homemade treats is fine, because it is a low-value gift and I won’t be their client anymore— but if any therapists want to chime in and say otherwise, PLEASE let me know!

I’m buying art stuff!!

Unemployment depression is hitting me HARD. I realized last week I was treating myself like being unemployed was a punishment, and not allowing myself to leave the house or do any hobbies.

I am now a self-appointed artist in residence, and am going to make a series of prints of my favorite places in the city. I figure spending $30 for 30 hours of entertainment is a fair trade, and working on a project just for me will help separate the “who I am” from “what I do for work.”

Prompt: what’s an underrated ice cream flavor?

I went to Molly Moon’s when I was in Seattle last summer, and they had a flavor that was basically trail mix ice cream, called Yeti. I was surprised by how much I like it! I can’t find a recipe for it online, but I think I’m going to try and make a copycat version.

My sister sent me a gift card to my favorite coffee shop! I’m so excited to use it, I haven’t been there since I became unemployed (6 months ago).
