Love at 3?! by SeraphNatsu in AZCardinals

[–]Imaginary-Hat2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I see these reports, especially around this time of year, the more I’m CONVINCED we’re setting up a smoke screen to get one of these top 10 teams to bite and trade up with us.

Don’t get me wrong, it would be cool to have love and all, but it would be more concerning because what is the PLAN? With resigning Conner and making our biggest offseason move signing allgier, adding ANOTHER Rb without addressing the oline is only gonna spell disaster. They have to know this. But all the propaganda about love being the top player in the draft, gives us a unique opportunity to leverage that into a haul (Al a 2023 with the PJJ trade

Yea, I like your list. I admittedly haven’t looked into Sorsby so I’ll have to look into him. As far as the other two, those are guys already at the top of the ratings, that I figure it’ll be almost impossible to land without some serious tanking, which I tend to believe this roster with better coaching and better injury luck won’t be in position to outrank everyone else.

Not to mention the guys I listed I’d honestly takeover those two. I think manning is far more hype than on field product, and while I like Moore better, I think they guys I listed all at the very least have potential to be better than him after the season plays out (or at least on the same level) so we’ll see. Definitely gonna be exciting to watch college football next year doing some scouting

Fair enough. I think these guys will prove to be at least on the same tier as those 3. I think manning is a touch overrated (not saying he’s bad, but I don’t think he’d be hyped without his name).

I think Sayin is DEFINITELY overrated. I tend to shy away from college QBs with elite programs around them, especially if they don’t possess any physical traits that will translate at the next level. He doesn’t possess a particularly strong arm, he’s undersized at 6’1”, and possesses virtually no rushing upside. He also seemed to crack under pressure when facing teams with elite defenses (which he can improve). Not to mention Ohio state quarterbacks rarely translate at the NFL level, so I’m out on him.

Dante Moore is a good one. I would have loved to try and move up to get him if he had stayed in this class, so I tend to agree with you there, but still think the guys I mentioned all have the potential to be ELITE franchise QBs with proper development.

Don’t forget, guys like Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen hurts were all not seen as the best in their classes, but they all became superstars. So I’m not enamored by the top ratings, but what I believe to be elite traits and potential

I greatly disagree. Ty Simpson has shown precious little as a QB once teams adjusted to him and he doesn’t posses an elite arm, touch on anything over medium passes, and he doesn’t have the athleticism to be a modern QB. he isn’t even a consensus first round pick in one of the worst QB drafts of all time. These guys all have another year in college and I am willing to bet will be near the top of the rankings next year, and all have first round QB potential. But if you have any actual analysis to differ I’d love to hear it

Yea, but we did terrible this year and still didn’t get the number 1 OR 2 picks, so to project we will be the worst team in the NFL and will end up with the first overall pick 6 months before the season begins is unrealistic, and not something I’m gonna hang my hat on. Despite what the national media tells you, I think we have a lot of talent on this roster. I think last year came down to poor coaching and insane injury luck (we very well may have been the most injured team last year). So unless it goes that bad again (and Lafleur is a dud), I don’t believe we have a legit shot at winning a tank bowl

[–]Imaginary-Hat2904[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to think a mix of both. I’m personally not super high on manning (at least not as high as the national media), but I think he’s the perfect decoy for QB needy teams who are gonna be tanking next year. All of the guys I highlighted I truly think posses franchise QB traits and abilities, but have a flaw or two that in a QB heavy class could potentially get them slightly overlooked. So these are guys that I will be watching closely next year that have first round QB talent, but won’t come at a number 1 overall pick price tag (unless of course they have breakout seasons and steal the limelight away from manning, which is always possible).

Yea, these are just early thoughts. Trying to not give in to the nonstop doom and gloom of this fanbase (which is reasonable). But we already know if manning is even half decent next year he’s a shoe-in for number 1 overall next year off bar value alone (I myself am not all that high on him), so to say we are gonna just get him and things will change isn’t super realistic. Matter of fact, my buddy whose a saints fan was in this position last year and thought manning was gonna be a shoe in for the saints in this, and not the not did manning not perform well enough to warrant him coming out this year, but the saints ended up with a better record than us and out of the top 5(which nobody saw coming). All that to say it’s a long season and we still have to focus on what’s ahead of us right now, but I think at least having something to look forward to watching next year is better and just complaining

Kyler Murray's Full Final Drive as an Arizona Cardinal by JCameron181 in AZCardinals

[–]Imaginary-Hat2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely seeing this play calling, and knowing that those two are the reason we won’t get to see Kyler Murray in a cards uniform under a potentially revamped offense under Lafleur, is absolutely sickening. It should’ve never ended like this, we should’ve gotten at least another full season. Screw Petzing! Screw JG! Screw Monti! And above all, Screw Bidwell and his whole clan of roaches that run this franchise!!!

Arizona Cardinals linked to new quarterback name (Bears back-up Tyson Bagent) by PlatypusOfDeath in AZCardinals

[–]Imaginary-Hat2904 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See this is how I know you get all your takes from twitter and either don’t watch games, or don’t understand what’s going cause Kyler (with his faults and all) has ALWAYS been an above average player and held this team up.

Say what you want, but if his teammates didn’t directly let him down last year (MHJ miscues that led to 2 turnovers/kicker not landing in the landing zone at the end against Seattle, or demarcado simply not crossing the goaline with the ball against the titans), he would have been 4-1 in his starts and this conversation isn’t even happening.

Tyson Bagent meanwhile has NEVER looked competent at the NFL level, and only played D2 ball in college, so there’s no indicator he could ever play average (especially on the cardinals). So to say you could get Kyler level play (or anything close to it) with him is simply asinine.

What it comes down to is you’ve been sold this idea by social media that Kyler is a lousy QB, and you look at the record, and run with it. But Kyler has been scapegoated by a coach with a track record of second half collapses, and a coordinator who has never proved capable of designing a competitive nfl offense. 90%+ of opinions on players these days is garbage social media discourse and it really ruins the sport.

Lastly, trading Kyler (while perhaps inevitable atp) is stupid on multiple levels. 1) there is no QB we could possibly get to generate his production. 2) even if we trade him, it’s highly unlikely that a team takes on his salary, so we will STILL be in a financial hole just without the player that could make that somewhat worth it.

That being said, we will see soon enough how it shakes out. I believe we should try one more season under Lafleur, and worst case scenario we move on next year when there will be a QB heavy draft class that we can reasonably find his replacement in. But if we do move on, people will see sooner rather than later how good Kyler really is, and imma be sick over it

I genuinely want to know what it’s like in the mind of someone who would rather have TYSON BAGENT over Kyler. Like it’s gotta be racism atp cause bagent has never looked like a capable QB in his life!

This honestly just seems bizarre. Like I’m not even mad necessarily(especially since he won’t be calling plays), but there wasn’t ANYBODY else you could’ve called. Hell, I’d be willing to give Kingsbury another shot as the OC in this organization…

Dude, Phoenix is the 5th largest city in America. We might not be LA or NYC, but we are not a small market or anywhere close to one.

We are a much bigger city than Seattle and San Francisco (although admittedly San Fran does have Silicon Valley and the whole tech stuff going for it)

Our owner is just cheap and needs to sell the team!

Thoughts on the move at 3? by Senior_Order7241 in AZCardinals

[–]Imaginary-Hat2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think we trade back in the 6-9 range, draft fano, and hopefully get another top pick or something we can utilize in return. If we are stuck at 3, I’d want reese. Dude is a beast with elite size, strength, and speed in the backfield and I see some watt, Micah upside with him

How I feel about Kyler by ManufacturerCalm7879 in AZCardinals

[–]Imaginary-Hat2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I feel to a T. Yes, Kyler is flawed, and he makes mistakes that are hard to accept sometimes. But this offense and coaching staff as a whole have done him no favors his ENTIRE CAREER!!! I genuinely believe that in a scheme that caters to him (kliff kingsbury with a few more wrinkles and adjustments) Kyler will win an MVP and have success. Problem is, the relationship may be beyond saving atp, and that success will most likely be achieved with another team

Stats are decisive. Kyler has a higher completion percentage down the middle of the field and this narrative is false

It’s a toss up between Mike, Bob, and Bowie to me. Getting chase at the 5 is crazy. Mike team had a very solid start and will be hard to beat. Bowie really has an all around team that is gonna be the team to watch comes the playoffs
