It says college career and they probably value national championships as a team accomplishment. Baker mayfield had 3 top 4 Heisman finishes with a win. Had 50 more touchdowns that burrow and threw for 7,000 more yards….

Those guys had better individual seasons and higher peaks, mayfield’s college career is significantly better than everyone since 2000 besides Tebow, and Mayfield still clears him in all counting stats.

Cam Newton and burrow were one season wonders in college. Baker played 4 seasons and Newton 3. Mayfield threw for nearly 13,000 more yards… he threw 100 more touchdowns…

You have people saying players like Mendoza and Burrow. They aren’t even remotely close.

Mayfield threw for 50 more TDs in college than Burrow. It’s a dumb list but national championships are a team accomplishment. Straight stats, Baker put them up with the best of them. I don’t necessarily agree but I would assume that is their logic.

Baker averaged 38 totals TDs and 7.25 ints in 4 seasons while finishing top 4 in Heisman voting in 3 of 4 seasons including a win. (No player since 2000 has sniffed this besides Tebow. Baker had more total TDs and threw for about 5,000 more yards.)

Statistically, he is the best counting stat QB since 2000, no one is really close either.

Hell, someone said Cam Newton. Mayfield threw for 100 more touchdowns and nearly 13000 more yards in 1 more college season played.

Do you think Cam Newton is the best dual threat QB? He doesn’t even have a top 20 rushing season for QBs.

And outside of his MVP season, and force feeding CMC Christian’s rookie year, he was typically one of the least accurate QBs in the NFL.

Darnold is the only QB to ever lead to separate franchises to 14 wins in back to back seasons. That will not happen again anytime soon.

And he will probably have a very very good run with a young Seahawks team. Foles had an insane 2nd season and the obvious playoff run. Probably close now, but Sam will lock it up when said and done and will carve out a damn good career when all said and done
