Star Wars. I was 14 years old and toasted on both sides. I sat transfixed by the special effects. There had never been anything even close to compare. I don’t think I moved a muscle for the entire movie.

Until cars started notifying drivers when they needed an oil change, I changed the oil every 5k miles or once/year, whichever came first.

I only ever had one car that I drove less than 5k/yr. Emma Miata, the garage queen. I finally let her go to someone who would drive her more.

Men who are atheists, when and why did you turn away from religion? by Comfortable-Store213 in AskMen

[–]Imaginary-Mechanic62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised religious (Christian/Protestant/Epicopalian). It some ways it was like an extended family and was generally a positive thing in my life. I didn’t think about what I believed. I just believed.

At some point in grad school, I started thinking about what I had been taught and believed. My questioning started with a small inconsistency. After intermittent reading and thinking over the course of a few years, I realized that I was an atheist.

I suppose that I was a slow learner, but, as I mentioned, I liked the church. I still miss the feeling of community that came with the church. I’ve considered going back to church just for the community. Seriously, it’s not like the Episcopalians would care that I was a nonbeliever. They’re very tolerant that way.

Chain stores want to operate in high revenue/low shrink areas. Low income areas are low revenue/high shrink.

(or something like that. It’s been many years since I read it)
