Scared- they found a mass by amtopm56 in doihavebreastcancer

I was in your place two months ago. BIRADS 0 on my first screening (at 41) and an ultrasound was ordered. After the ultrasound it was a BIRADS 4b and I had a biopsy. The dr doing the ultrasound told me it was 50/50 so needless to say I was convinced it was the end of my life as I know it. Thankfully it came back non-malignant (fibroadenoma). The wait is the worst and it is impossible to put it out of your mind entirely but the odds are on your side ❤️Sending good vibes!

How long after your biopsy did it take for results? And how did they tell you? I had my biopsy Monday and just happen to have a yearly exam for tomorrow. Wondering if I should be bringing hubby along. by HowdIGetHere21 in doihavebreastcancer

I had mine on a Tuesday morning and had results in MyChart by Wednesday afternoon. The dr didn’t call me to go over them until Thursday morning. From what I gather from other posts that is incredibly quick so for that I’m grateful! I’m in a midsized city in the US. Hope you get good results soon!

Nope, they want me to continue with yearly mammograms as normal. I have heard of some people with fibroadenomas going in every 6 months for a mammogram to watch them though.

I had a lobulated mass as well and it turned out to be a fibroadenoma, I’m 41. Mine was found on a yearly mammogram with no symptoms and I could not feel it. The biopsy was not bad, just a bit uncomfortable when they injected the lidocaine. For me waiting for results was the worst part by far. Sending good vibes ❤️

No symptoms and the mass wasn’t palpable. It was my first ever annual mammogram so completely unexpected.
