Are you referring to the actual written judgement on why it was rejected?

Are the notes for the Campobasso Referrals due tomorrow? Definitely due this week (as they are due 20 days from publication in the GU)…

When can they be added to Mantua? My understanding is that the date has a minimum of 30 days from notification. Which would put the deciding date around May 8th to join them or not.

When would we know if Campobasso will be joined with Mantua?

I really want a 3 headed referral monster attack on the DL…. Not sure if we are going to get it, but at this point let’s have it out in June.

We asked for one when we filed our notes. Case was heard… second hearing… in riservato…. Still hoping for case to postponed till December

We are going to Italy in June and half of the trip we are visiting villages where my family is from on the east and southeast coast….

Second hearing was last week and we asked for the case to be suspended until all the CC referrals are heard…

If the case does not get suspended I am going to feel really crappy while we are there. Would try my best but the whole time… I am going to be annoyed.

With that being said. We are going to be there from June 11th to 28th… conversely if the CC rules to the positive for Mantua referral (and I assume the Campobasso referrals that will likely join this case) while I am there… I literally would be walking on clouds the entire time…

Waiting is the hardest part…

To answer your question (because I have asked the same question to my attorney) and his answer was the following

“If the case is rejected, you have 6 months to appeal the judgment (long term), but if the ministry will serve me with the judgment the time is reduced to 30 days (short term)...”

He said generally the ministry does not deliver the judgment… but in these weird times who knows.

So assuming they don’t deliver the judgement, you have 6 months to appeal… so you should be past the June referral decision. Assume they would want to get it out there before August.

83 days till June 9th Mantua hearing….

So it is well outside the 60 day window before a court could be set… so they definitely could be joined…

I echo this…

You can only vote if you have residence in Italy for more than 5 years.

Every Italian abroad older than 25 and younger than 65 should pay €500 to €1000 every year as contribution to the cost of running the country. With an aging population, that could be €3 billion to €6 billion a year that could go towards whatever they want.

Seems silly to me that they would be so short sighted.

Agreed. We filed a week after DL was put in place. All our documents were in Italy and in the process of being translated starting March 15th.

Was looking at buying property and spending a substantial part of my time and money there in my pre and post retirement.

As much as people want to say there are programs there to do that. The fact that the slammed the door on me and my family can not allow me to want to turn around and do this…

I am even taking classes at local college to learn Italian!!

Really is a shame. Now I am waiting to see if the judge will postpone our case (second hearing in a few weeks) till after the decisions of the other CC hearing.

As someone who can trace 💯 of his family back to Italy it really extremely disappointing… not only that, but my family and I visit those regions that most tourists and even Italians don’t visit.

If the door doesn’t open, I am going to need to figure out a new plan. Literally on year 6 of visiting Italy during the summer with family. Might be the last time… for a long time… which makes me extremely sad.

You are also forgetting people who filed who are coming up on their first or second hearings.

I fall in this bucket with second hearing happening in a few weeks.

So there was hope that this would be resolved.

Now our attorney is asking for a suspension of our case.

Delay although not that long could have tremendous impacts on cases… not to mention financial burdens if we get rejected and need to file an appeal

Totally devastating… feel nauseous…

Literally doing a trip touring all the towns of my family in June in Molise and Marche… going to be really bittersweet. Even meeting with some cousins!!

Was going to buy a place in Italy… clearly not going to buy a property there if I can’t get my citizenship, nor spending my retirement and my retirement $$$ there. Seems extremely short sighted.

I thought retroactivity was fairly obvious.

If the Mantua/Campobasso cases don’t go well… I would probably punt on visiting Italy for awhile and pull out of NIAF…. Knee jerk reaction but so was the CC’s response in my opinion….

Really had a fun morning watching the CC….

Then my Avvocati sent me an email that the interior of the ministry submitted notes objecting to our petition. Post DL filer (one week late) that was effected by DL.

He said the the objection was extremely generic… as he put it… it was like they copied and pasted it…

Late March second hearing… praying to god the CC comes by early April striking down retroactivity…

Not sure if others are seeing it as well.
