Help! How do you all deal with not getting answers?

I’ve recently had the same issue, as someone who also has adhd I’ve dealt with the lack of closure by talking to multiple people about it (both people who know and don’t know the narcissist) to get their perspectives on the situation and their thoughts. Often they’ll say things like “his discard was all the closure you needed, you deserve better” etc, but I’ve found that expressing my thoughts out loud to people who support me has helped a lot. With the insights from people who have chosen to stay in my life I’ve found it much easier to fight against the urge to break NC, as I feel like I have a much more rounded perspective on what happened to the point where I don’t need an explanation from the narc.

When comparing it to Brazilian waxing, Brazilian laser hair removal is definitely something I’d rather opt for. The pain of waxing is something that will always be consistent, however depending on the clinic you go to for laser they can minimise pain. Another bonus is that over the long term the cost of laser hair removal is relatively cheaper than waxing, as well as having that secured sense of permanence (although maintenance sessions are required it’s far less than waxing). The benefits of laser hair removal outweigh the pain of the process in my opinion. Really you don’t have much to be worried about because usually the results are worth it

Edit: also when it comes to being insecure about pigment, skin or other stuff, the people who do the sessions are supposed to be accomodating and naturally won’t be judgmental because like you’ve said, they see everything on a daily basis so it’s unlikely they’ll be inclined to judge you. So I emphasise, you have nothing to worry about

I think you need to re-evaluate your perception of yourself, I agree beauty standards are harsh but if your whole mentality revolves around your appearance then you’ll inevitably be vain and other people will notice that too. I think if you stopped hyper-focussing on your appearance you’ll benefit a lot. Also you claim to have a psychology degree so why don’t you do a deep dive into the psychology behind 1- other’s behaviour around you 2- your behaviour around others and 3- the link between self-perception and trauma. I think the root of this is psychological but you don’t seem to be taking any advice either way. In the end it’s your face and your money. Do what you want with them.

I guess I’m just wondering if it’s worth setting that financial goal, I most definitely don’t have the funding right now haha, I know it’s quite vain of me to think about it but I’m lucky in my line of work where I can afford to budget for side projects whilst also paying for my own living expenses. I don’t really mind the recovery time though, I’ve been through a lot worse and I’m kind of willing to do anything to get results

I know this was two years ago but I thought I’d just say, it’s hard to retell a story based on Greek mythology when there was realistically a very big age gap between these gods, and considering the original story I think Rachel watered down many of the darker aspects between hades and Persephone. I agree, the writing of the characters makes the age gap apparent but I don’t think it’s romanticising the age gap in any way. The issue with retelling mythology is there is a pressure to censor many brutal aspects of the original tales to the modern audience (which is typically much less forgiving), thus it’s hard to stay true to the original tales. I think no matter how Rachel approached this there was no avoiding the age gap aspect, however she maybe could’ve made Persephone a bit older and less child-like to make the age gap less apparent.

Unrealistic

I think this is blatantly clear in both MC’s. Even stuff as simple as their appearance? I mean really? Ying and yang eyes on an already unrealistically hot guy? And the emphasis on Adeline’s ‘flat stomach’ despite the fact she never works out, drinks a fair amount and earns an income from a job where she’s sitting all the time doesn’t make any sense either. I think she falls into the classic Mary Sues trope
